My Thor: Ragnarok Pops Collection is Growing

Thor Ragnarok Pops
Photo-A-Day #4575

I had every intention of opening the Thor: Ragnarok Marvel Collector Corps box. I slept poorly and then woke up and couldn’t go back to sleep, then fell asleep, woke for my alarm and fell back asleep. I will end up doing an unboxing tomorrow to show you what is inside the box. I’ll do a livestream for it and it should be a lot of fun. I’m loving the new pops for Thor: Ragnarok. I was not going to start collecting them but then I went on the Thor: Ragnarok Red Carpet trip. There I received a couple of the figures, Loki and Hela. Before the trip I picked up two Thor figures and a Hulk figure. That started it all off. I have a few more of the exclusives to collect. I’ve been looking for a Surtur figure, a Hela figure with no helmet and a Hulk figure with no helmet.

Marvel Collector Corps – First Appearance Avengers Unboxing

My Mavel Collector Corps – First Appearance Avengers box arrived yesterday. But today I got a chance to unbox it. I also mentioned that I received a copy of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. Blu-ray Combo Pack. I’ll be making a blog post review of that before the pack is released on Tuesday. You can already get the movie on Digital but if you have a 4K TV then you can get a pretty awesome pack that is 4K. I know that James Gunn really lobbied for that.

As far as the Marvel Collector Corps I enjoyed this box but thought that it should have at least had a comic inside. I think the exclusive comics are great and they give Marvel a way to introduce fans to new comic series. I think it would have made sense to have a comic like 1,000,000 B.C. Avengers. That would have made a lot of sense to go with the theme. I guess it makes sense in my mind at least. The box was a decent one and I have a whole unboxing video below.

LEGO Sets: A Hulking Out Preview

Andrew on the Playground
Photo-A-Day #4378

Today was a nice day with Andrew. I took him to school and then went to the gym. From there I went back to shcool and played some Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild until it was time to go in to read to Andrew’s Class.

I read the class two books. The first was Different is Awesome by Ryan Haack and illustrated by my friend Wes Molebash. The kids liked that very much. The second book was Nanette’s Baguette by Mo Willems. The kids loved that story and they laughed like crazy. That book is a great one for laughter. Andrew said it was his favorite book.

We went to lunch at Bliss Bros. Dairy because I had a craving for clamcakes and chowder. Andrew was s so much fun at lunch. We are starting to have better conversations and he’s such a joy to take to a meal. He was funny and sweet. He impressed the waitress, too, with his speaking. She said to me that he spoke so well and then she asked him how old he was. He held up his hand. I looked at him and said, “She just said that you spoke well and then when she asked you a question you just help up your hand.” He pointed to his mouth. His mouth had been full and so he was actually being polite. Well, I’m glad he had the presence of mind to be polite in that moment.

We went to the playground right after that. Andrew played on his favorite things like the zipline and the swings. He took a couple of falls but got right back up to try it once again.

In my video I talk about the new Marvel Superheroes LEGO set that Brian and I built for an episode of Built from Bricks. The Hulk vs Hulk set is a great one. It is really fun to play with, too. You will see when the episode is released.

Little Hulk Smash

Andrew and I played with some new Marvel Avengers Hulk Gamma Grip Fists that we got as part of the #PlayLikeHasbro campaign. The toy was sent to use free and opinions of it are 100% our own. These soft fists are perfect for your kids to pretend to be the Incredible Hulk. You can open and close the hands so that you can grip many things and still make fists with the foam hands. Andrew had a fun time playing with these Gamma Grip Fists. Here is a slow-mo video that I made of Andrew and the Gamma Grip Fists.

Smash Hawk – A Marvel Super Hero Mashers Creation

My Marvel MashUp is Smash-Hawk

We received a couple of new Marvel’s Super Hero Machers to play with and talk about. Here’s what we thought.

We received two characters, Marvel’s Hawkeye and The Hulk. Super Hero Mashers are being sold as a single character or a single character with a Battle Upgrade. The Hulk was a Battle Upgrade figure and the upgrade was a missile launcher and a large shield like glove. Hawkeye was a single figure and he came with his bow. there are going to be 13 figures released in wave 1 which will include Spider-Man, Captain America and more. There will be 7 Battle Upgrade figures including Venom, Thor and The Hulk. When Wave 2 comes out the Battle Upgrade characters will come with additional arms.

I decided to combine Hawkeye with The Hulk in a very small way. I removed the lower legs to make him very short and kept the bow. I also used the shield and the Hulk’s right hand. I’m not sure how he’s going to pull the bow string, though. Continue reading Smash Hawk – A Marvel Super Hero Mashers Creation

Marvel’s Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United Trailer

Marvel's Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United Trailer

Check out Marvel’s Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United trailer, that debuted at the New York Comic Con. I watched it and wasn’t that impressed. I like pretty much everything but the voice acting was off, Tony Stark sounds like a kid and not a man. The CGI looks a bit rough. I would have liked animation on this movie and better voice acting but this is just the trailer and it won’t be out for a while, maybe some of these things that people have a problem with will get addresses. See for yourself and let me know what you think in the comments below.

SYNOPSIS:

Audiences will enjoy an adrenaline rush as they see their favorite Super Heroes as never before in this all-new groundbreaking Marvel CG-animation movie experience available only on Blu-ray™, DVD and Digital platforms. Marvel’s Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United is an incredible pairing of Hulk’s brute strength and Iron Man’s high-tech intellect. Presented in the mighty Marvel manner, their combined force is unstoppable in this feature-length original animated adventure.

App Review: Avengers Origins: Assemble!

Avengers Origins: Assemble! A Marvel Reads iPad/iPhone App

Continuing the count down to the Avengers Movie I have received another iPad/iPhone app with an Avengers theme. This time it is Avengers Origins: Assemble and it is once again narrated by Stan “The Man” Lee. This app tells the story of how the Avengers banded together with each other as well as how they added Captain America to the team. As with the Avengers Origins: Hulk app that I reviewed yesterday the story is easily readable with simple words for younger children and it even has a Young Readers Mode, Read to me Mode and Auto Turn mode. Avengers Origins: Hulk iPad/iPhone App from Marvel Reads

With the Avengers movie coming out in just two days away this is the perfect time to introduce your kids to one of the most misunderstood Avengers, the Incredible Hulk. This new Marvel Reads app gives a great origin story to this amazing character. The story can be read by Stan “The Man” Lee, creator of The Hulk. With beautiful artwork and simple storytelling this is a good story to encourage young readers to read for themselves. Continue reading App Review: Avengers Origins: Hulk

More Literal Assembling of Avengers

Photo-A-Day #2579

When I learned that the LEGO Super Heroes line was going to include sets for The Avengers I had to go and pick them up. Mimi and Dano gave me birthday money and with it I ordered all of the currently available sets for the line and also the Wolverine set (not shown above). I’m heading to California tomorrow and knew that this would be a short week with the family so I wanted to spend as much time with them as I could. Eva and I put together three LEGO Avengers sets including the Hulk’s Breakout set and the Quinjet set and the Loki’s escape set. I love these LEGO sets and hope that soon there will be one that includes Nick Fury and more of the human Shield agents. Eva had so much fun putting together all the minifigs.
