BenSpark’s Refreshing Soda-Club Contest…

After winning the One for Me, One for You contest that Christine sponsored my mind began to think about a contest that I could sponsor. I sent out an e-mail to all of my contacts asking them to vote for me in the contest and one contact was Kristin from Soda-Club. Kristin read this blog and saw that I wanted to do a contest of my own so she proposed that I work with Soda-Club on a contest.

I am very excited to tell you that I am sponsoring a contest along with the folks at Soda-Club. They have agreed to donate the first, second and third prizes for this competition.

Soda Club USAFirst prize will be a Soda-Club Home Soda Maker either an Edition 1 (black/silver) or the Fountain Jet (white) and supplies – winner’s choice on model. Second place gets a BYOS package (Bring Your Own Seltzer) which includes a sample pack of flavors and a stainless steel mixing bottle. Third Prize would be a Pint Glass with the Soda-Club logo.

I own a Soda-Club Home Soda Makerand have had one for some time. I enjoy using it and my friends have enjoyed the benefit of my having the flavors that they like most on hand when they come to my house. I enjoy the convenience of having the soda maker in my own home. I also am enjoying the added health benefits of Soda-Club soda. Yes, I said health benefits. Soda-Club soda has less sugar than regular soda and their Diet versions are made with Splenda. This is very important to me because I have had to cut regular soda from my diet and had a hard time finding soda sweetened with Splenda and I did not want to add aspartame to my diet. Sure there are some brands out there that have Splenda but not enough and not in as many flavors as Soda-club has.

On to the contest. Below there is a video that I produced that talks about some of the benefits of Soda-Club soda makers. Watch it and then follow the steps below the video to participate in the contest.

  1. Great idea, Drewbie!!

Hey-do you know you’re the “blog of the day” on fuel my blog?? You’re everywhere!!

  2. Thanks Mo, I almost forgot to vote for me on fuel today. I appreciate the heads up. Are you gonna participate in the contest? I hope so.

  3. Joana,

Great post for the contest. You are the first official Entrant.Good job. And while I was at your blog I fueled it too. I hope you are reading the FMB blog too, there are some great weekly columns there.

  4. Who knows, either way you could certainly ask them to enter. The more the merrier. Thanks for the comment and thanks for the return visit.

  5. Hi Ben, great idea for a contest. Is it possible to create sodas with flavorings that are non-soda club ingredients? Can you use actual fresh squeezed fruit juice?

  6. Hi Heidi,

You can make your own carbonated water and add whatever juices you would like to the water. Just don’t put anything other than water in the bottles. I but the flavoring in first once and then carbonated it. It was like that Simpson’s episode when Bart shook a beer can up on Homer and it exploded like crazy. Yeah I had soda everywhere. It was my first time and I didn’t read the directions.

But to answer your question you can add whatever you would like to the water after you cardonate it.

  7. That is really weird, it is loading fine for me. I wonder what the issue can be. Thanks for letting me know. So are you going to enter the contest? I hope so, I would love to know what you think of the contest and the product.

  8. Hey Drew,
I will have an entry in by tonight. While at work, I get a little bored,. so that will give me plenty of time to write you a post. Even though I probably won’t write the best post, I plan to buy one anyway. Talk to ya soon bud.

  9. Oh Wow, Bob you are commenting on my blog, that is very cool. I am sorry that this contest is not open to anyone outside the Continental U.S. However I am doing another contest next month that will be open to people the world over. I read your blog entries each day and am happy that you stopped by to comment. Thanks.

  10. Ben, I realize I’m too late for your contest but was hoping for some advice. I am going to be purchasing a soda club system in a week or so. I noticed that while your contest was for a plastic system that you personally chose the penguin.

Could you tell me how/why you came to the decision to spend the extra money for the glass system (since the gas refills are more expensive as well) and if you would choose the glass over plastic if you had it to do over?

I like the idea of glass but the lifetime extra cost of the gas refills is putting me off. I’d appreciate any advice you have. Thanks.

  11. Hi David,
Thanks very much for coming to me for advice on this. I did buy the penguin and it was because of the glass bottles. The reason I ended up buying the glass over the plastic was that I am a fan of things in glass bottles. I know it is weird but I think that glass keeps things much colder than plastic.

And to be honest I didn’t compare the prizes of the gas refills and didn’t realize that they were much more expensive. The gas lasts so very long too. I’ve made tons of bottles from the first bottle of gas that I bought with the penguin. I’d still choose the penguin however. I also used to have the plastic one and wanted to upgrade.

Since you are buying one anyway I’d appreciate it if you’d buy it through this blog by clicking through my affiliate link on this blog, it is at the bottom of the page as an animated ad that says soda bottles are heavy.

  12. Wow! Thanks for responding so quickly and for the benefit of your experience. I’m still not sure if I’ll get the glass because the gas costs 150% as much as for the plastic version and we drink lots of soda (2 liters a day on average) and over time that’s a lot of extra cost. I will definitely use your link to give you credit. So what did you do with your old plastic one? 🙂

  13. Thanks David. I gave my old one to a friend of mine. She had expressed interest in it so when I upgraded she was given the old one. Thanks very much for purchasing through my blog. I appreciate that.
