Yesterday I went to pick up my photos at the Bellingham Library. I hadn’t been there since I dropped off the photos. I just never got a chance to go to the library for the opening. When I walked in the woman there asks me if I was picking up photos, I was. Then she said okay they are on the wall just take them down and bring them here. I walked over and saw one of mine with a red ribbon next to it, 2nd Place. That was the photo from Photo-A-Day #1000 plus all the photos from my 1st 500 Photo(s)-A-Day in the background. Then I found my photo of the Oregon Farm and that too had a 2nd place ribbon with it. I said, “Huh, wow that is pretty cool.” The woman there heard me and asked if I had been there before to see all the paintings. I was embarrassed to say I hadn’t. I certainly should have been to the opening.
It was a small show but there were a bunch of people who entered. It gave me a little confidence to actually go out and try some other things. I’ll be entering more of these in the future.
Many people have inquired about a 2009 Photo-A-Day calendar. I will take a look at what I have from the past year and see if I have 12 photos I’d like to put into a calendar. Want to help me out? Take a look through my Photo-A-Day 2008 Flickr set and tell me your favorite 12 photos. Just Fav them on Flickr. If you can please spread the word about this through Twitter, Facebook, Etc.
That is AWESSOME Drew! you deserve it 100% 🙂

Thanks very much Chica, I appreciate that very much especially since I really respect your photography and your eye. I hope you use that Eye to help me pick 12 good photos for my calendar this year.
Dude, just got back from picking my faves, and I didn’t even make it through the set before I went way over to 18 favs! LOL
I’d love to see one on the photo challenge, that E word one (can’t remember) Of course that’s the type of photography I enjoy the most.
Perhaps you can make one for yourself, of Eva, since you have so many to choose from. 🙂
I just got a Flickr update, you certainly went all out on the favorites, very cool. Thanks so much, you really liked the Entropy ones.
Well I thought when I went into it, that I wanted to pick stuff I’d like to look at for a full month, and those were pretty much it, I could have went even more critical and more thorough through your set, but time is limited, and I had to do it when I have this little time at night lol. I’m sure whatever you create will be ace, I’ll save some bucks to purchase it. 🙂
Thanks very much for taking the time to help me out. I may do a contest to give one or two away as well. We’ll see.
Wow, that is really neat! Congratulations.
I missed a competition I wanted to enter, but now that I am really playing around with manual and getting out there, I may try to find even more.
I did a calendar last Christmas and people really liked it. Good luck on your decision!
