Photo-A-Day #1978
I’ve been quiet here on the blog for a little while and there has been some speculation as to why. I did explain it in a previous post but it has been really interesting just sitting back and being quiet and giving the floor to the readership. I’m really pleased with all the feedback, comments and support that I’ve been getting from everyone and I love it that very few people decided to up and leave while more people decided to come aboard and see what was going on.
I’m slowly going to be posting more like I used to, maybe not so in depth but I wanted to mention that I’ll be doing this fun project with Seagate. I connected with some folks at Seagate and they sent me this awesome treasure trove of storage and media content devices. The entire GoFlex ecosystem in fact. I’ll be installing each of these products into our home and beyond. As I do so I’ll be blogging about them, making videos and talking about the Seagate GoFlex products. We’ll see where this takes us but at this time we’re working together to see how these products work in a regular home with a guy who is a tech and gadget geek. |

I’ve been working really hard to make connections with brands that I trust and who’s products I use. Before I received these products to use I already had two Seagate hard drives (a 2TB I bought and a 1.5TB I won, and a 1TB one that I launched off the desk and destroyed accidentally). I back up all my thousands of photos on Seagate Drives and they are a natural fit for me, my family and my blog. So you’ll be seeing much more from Seagate on the blog.
Here is our setup for network. We have Comcast internet and a wireless router that connects our condo, my sister’s condo and my parent’s condo. I received a GoFlex Home 1TB network drive so we could backup 3 computers through the network. I’ll be doing that with our desktop, my sister’s laptop and my mom’s laptop. I also received 3 GoFlex TV’s which will allow us to watch our digital content right on our TVs. I think we’re going to need the wireless adapters to take content from our network but we’ll see how things go by pulling content from existing drives for now. I’m very excited about this and once I get back from Modern Media Man I’ll be setting everything up. I can hardly contain my excitement to see what I can do with these fun products.
As far as disclosure, I worked on this relationship myself and not through a company. I wanted to work with Seagate and I asked, I offered a unique opportunity to test the drives in a real life situation in return for the drives. I’m a fan of the product and really enjoy the brand so I’m excited to be working with a brand that is one that I trust and that fits this blog so well.
Looking forward to you getting back to your old style. Also looking forward to your findings on the Seagate line of products
Buck,
I’m still shaking the cobwebs out. I’m at a point already where I wondered how I was able to write so much each night. It is crazy.
Very cool! Can’t wait to see how they work!
Deborah,
So far so good, I’ve already been using a GoFlex drive to do backups on my laptop and desktop computers. Looking forward to hooking up GoFlex TV.
That’s AWESOME. Will you share your reviews on CB?
Hi Zippy,
I will share my findings over at CB. This is a non CB project however. It is all me doing my thing right now. Pretty psyched about it.
Nice! That looks like some toys that I would love to get my hands on. Looking forward to reading your review.
Kris,
I hear you, I have them and haven’t been able to properly play with them yet.
