What did we think of the two cartridges?
InnoTab Go! Go! Smart Wheels® Busy Day in Alphabet Town Learning Cartridge
Andrew really enjoyed the Busy Day in Alphabet Town Learning Cartridge. This seemed to be the one more geared to his interest. He loved playing each of the games especially one where you had to save a kitten from a tree by identifying the correct letter on a branch by the sound of that letter. I didn’t even know that he was able to look at the letters and identify their sounds without help. He was able to do that with quite a few letters. The rest of them he was able to click on the letter to hear the correct sound. This was helpful and the more he plays this game the easier it will be for him to identify the letters by their sounds. There are plenty of games on the cartridge to make it worth the purchase. That game was just the one that he keyed in to most attentively.
InnoTab Learn to Write with Cody & Cora Learning Cartridge
There is a heavy emphasis on spelling and writing letters in this cartridge. With a ebook and various games kids learn to spell basic words and also how to write letters. Andrew is just starting to learn how to use a pencil in the proper way. This app was good for him to learn more about holding his writing utensil, in this case the stylus. He’s still rather unsteady though and got a little frustrated drawing the straight lines and curved lines needed to write the letters. He could also use his finger to play the games and sometimes that was the best option for him. There were also different levels of play and so this cartridge will grow with him as he learns more over time.
