When I visited Branson, MO back in early November I had the opportunity to stay at the Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center. The stay here was covered by the hotel and opinions of the hotel are my own. You may now know this about me but I am a HUGE fan of the legend of King Arthur. I have read every book series I can find about King Arthur from historical fiction to an alternate retelling of the legend, to television and movies. Anything with Arthurian Legend is something I want to absorb and enjoy. At the Stone Castle there is a theme of a real castle and King Arthur all throughout and there is much more to come.
In fact, this December through February when the hotel is closed it will get all new siding, in a new color to make it look even more like a castle, new windows, carpet, doors and a whole new look. The next time I go back I won’t even recognize the place. I will be going back and the Stone Castle Hotel is the only place I would consider staying because of the wonderful experience I had. Let me tell you a bit about it.
When I arrived I was given one of the themed partner suites. My suite was the Dolly Parton’s Stampede Suite which was a Queen-sized suite with Jacuzzi tub in a huge bathroom. The bedroom was a private one with a living room with large flat-screen TV, fridge and more. It was all decorated for Christmas as well. I made sure that I made a video tour of the room via live-stream the moment that I walked in before I unloaded all my stuff and messed up the room. You can see the room in the video below.
I loved all the fun decorating touches that were made to the room. not only the ones for Dolly Parton’s Stampede but the fun Christmas themed touches around the room. Also, I definitely made use of the Jacuzzi and the bath salts and bubbles that were left for me. I was wiped out from travelling and settled into that very comfortable bed. It was a great room.
It was also a very sought after room because the next morning I was having breakfast with my friend Winona and her mom. I told her which room I was staying in and her eyes lit up. She had wanted to stay in that room but she got the Medieval room. She liked her room well enough but you could tell that Dolly’s room was what she’d rather have. So we decided to switch. The Medieval room would be perfect for me because it has that theme of being in a castle and if I am staying at the Stone Castle Hotel then I want to be in a castle room, right? Certainly.
We went to the front desk and were helped by two lovely women. Everyone that we met at the Stone Castle Hotel had a positive attitude and looked for solutions to whatever came their way. When my good friend Becky of Week 99er had an accident playing mini-golf the hotel stepped up and helped her out with a wheelchair and crutches. There is a special attention to detail that we saw all throughout the hotel.
I mentioned that I had breakfast that first morning and that was completely complimentary. The hotel feeds all of the guests every morning and I don’t mean just cereal and yogurt and stuff like that. They have a whole hot breakfast buffet that includes: eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits & gravy, waffles, oatmeal, cereals, toast, muffins, milk, coffee and juice. And this is at a 296 room mid-tier hotel. You can get a standard room there for $79 a night (standard room depending upon dates) but even a much larger room in peak season isn’t going to break the bank. In fact you save more by staying here in breakfasts each morning alone. Think about it. You have a big hot breakfast in the morning and that cuts out about $40 – $60 for a family of four. That also means that you do less snacking until the next meal. Something to definitely consider. Oh, and the breakfast was really well done. The people who ran the breakfast room, John and Ann, were on hand to meet everyone, too. They are real people making real food.
So, with the room switch happening I was able to get two room tours on my trip. I liked the Medieval room as well. It had a huge King sized-bed and giant chair plus a Jacuzzi tub in the living-room and rock castle walls all around. There was even a suit of armor to greet me when I arrived. You can see that tour as well.
My stay was a very good one. Everything I needed was there for me. If I was staying longer and wasn’t running all over the place to shows (Which is easy because Stone Castle Hotel is located right in the middle of all the action but set back so you can get anywhere you need to be quickly. If I got more time at the hotel itself there are two indoor heated swimming pools and two indoor hot tubs. There is also an Arcade Game Room that is sponsored by The Track Family Fun Parks. The Stone Castle Hotel works with many sponsors and there are quite a few that have themed suites like Clay Cooper’s Crib (My friend Becky had this one), A Titanic Suite and Andy Williams Ozark Mountain Christmas Suite. There are many others as well.
Amenities that I did take advantage of were the free high speed Wi-Fi. This was actually high speed and not just called that. I was able to do live-streams and work on blog posts quickly using the Wi-Fi. It was just what a blogger like me needed.
I must also mention that we spent the few days at the Stone Castle with Sam, one of the owners and you could tell that he loved the place. He has such a passion for making the Stone Castle the best it can be and maintaining a level of friendly excellence throughout the hotel. You can see it on the faces of everyone who works there. It must be because the Stone Castle Hotel takes care of their employees. Employees receive breakfast each day, they have holiday parties together and do a lot to motivate each other. I can attest to the friendliness of helpfulness of the employees at the Stone Castle and that is why I’d return there on a future trip to Branson.
I wanna experience staying in a stone castle too!!!! That’s my dream since I was a child. Haha
Looks Awesome! Staying in a stone castle would be so much fun!
