Eva is an artistic child. She’s been able to hold a writing implement ever since she was very, very little. Crayons, Markers, Paintbrushes and more she’s enjoyed using them. From the beginning Crayola has been a part of her life. Eva is also a big fan of Disney Princesses and so when we got the chance to review a Crayola Story Studio starring Disney Princesses it was a no-brainer. We had to try it!
The Crayola Story Studio is a a great way for your child to become part of the story. There are a few different Story Studio sets including Disney Princesses, Cars and Spider-Man. The set includes everything you need in order to create that very special story. The Disney Princesses version includes 10 pip-squeak skinnies markers and three larger pip-squeak markers plus some sparkle glue. The set has enough materials included to create five books including five shiny cover pages. There are also three binding clips to keep the books together when complete. You can always print out the pages on regular paper as well so you can print an unlimited number of books. Since we have the crayons and additional markers we brought them out as well so Eva had even more color choices.
When you are getting started with the Story Studio you need to have a photo of your child. I suggest that you take a photo of them in front of a blank background. Make sure that they stand up straight and tall and smile. Take a few and then go through them with your child. Help them become a part of all aspects of the story making process. Here is the one we selected for Eva.
Once the photo is taken, then go to Crayola Story Studio and input the special code that comes with your Story Studio set. This will gain you access to the online section where you can upload the photo and make it into a cartoon character to put into the story. The image will be scanned and then a character that looks very close to your child. You then can edit that character to refine features to make it look more like your child. Your next step is to put your child into an outfit, give it color and then select your princess. You have the option to choose from six different princesses including Tiana, Rapunzel, Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel and Belle. Each princess has their own special story and your child is inserted into key story points. When you print out the story the bottom of the page is blank so that you can write your own story.
Creating the story was a lot of fun for Eva and I to do together. Eva had fun coloring the pages of her book and her coloring is getting so much better. She’s refining her technique with each coloring project that she does. She also got a huge kick out of being a part of the story.
