The world began its love affair with Anne Hathaway when she appeared in The Princess Diaries. I didn’t see the movie at that time but I remember seeing the commercials with Anne as Mia Thermopolis with the crazy bushy hair, wicked bushy eyebrows and looking schlumpy. Then she was transformed into this beautiful poised young woman. This was not one of those hot girl who doesn’t know she’s hot in a pony tail and glasses who gets the glasses off and suddenly everyone sees she’s hot sort of story. Well, it was, but it wasn’t shallow in that she gets the hot guy who never gave her the time of day. Her transformation gave her more confidence to continue to be the wonderful person that she already was and realize that there was someone who had been in love with her even before she blossomed into a princess. Prior to her transformation I really couldn’t see it coming because the transformation was very, very different. Crazy bushy hair straightened and glasses gone, she became more confident as she learned not to be afraid and she became the princess that she had always been inside. I was given the opportunity to take Allison to see the movie One Day starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess. The movie is from Focus Features and was shot and printed on Kodak Film. I actually am getting my tickets from Kodak to go and see the movie. It will be one of the only movies of the summer without wizards, robots, animation or superheroes that I’ll be seeing. It will be nice for Allison and I to get out and see a grown up movie. So, if you’d like a pair of tickets to see a date night movie.
