The kids and I watch Sofia the First together. Whenever there is a new episode we usually all watch it. However, they went and watched the Curse of Princess Ivy without me the first time around. They happily watched it again with me on their second viewing. They both really liked the singing dragons and Rapunzel. I thought it was a great touch to have Mandy Moore reprise her role as Rapunzel in this movie.
The movie had more action than usual in a Sofia the First show. This time around Amber learns the secret of Sofia’s Amulet by spying on Sofia. then she gets her hands on it and gets cursed, a curse that frees Princess Ivy, a pretty nasty piece of work who is turning Enchancia black and white and trying to take over and make it her own kingdom. This movie will be out on DVD on February 24, 2015. Continue reading Sofia the First meets Rapunzel in The Curse of Princess Ivy→
I will have to make sure that our DVR is set to record this special Sofia the First movie. Both kids really enjoy Sofia the first and they were big fans of Tangled. They are going to be very excited to see Rapunzel and Sofia together.
“Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy,” a new primetime special premiering this Sunday November 23 at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT on Disney Channel.
In the special, Amber discovers Sofia’s amulet is magical and takes it without permission, inadvertently summoning the evil Princess Ivy, who has her sights set on taking over the kingdom of Enchancia by destroying the amulet and turning the entire kingdom black and white. The high-stakes adventure features a special appearance by Rapunzel, voiced by Mandy Moore, who reprises her role from Disney’s “Tangled.” Film, television and Broadway star Anna Camp guest stars as the nefarious Princess Ivy, along with her “Pitch Perfect” co-star John Michael Higgins as the leader of an all-dragon a capella group “Smoke, Wings and Fire.”
