When we picked Andy up from school today I gave him the option for choosing where to have lunch. He chose Five Guys and so we went on over there together. It had been a tough few weeks for Andy and I wanted him to have a special lunch to enjoy. He’s been so ready for the school year to be over. He’s got a lot of fun to look forward to in the next few months, too. He’s going to be taking classes at Johnson and Wales and he’s also going to be going to Science School. He’s taking a couple months break from karate. He’ll be going back in September, though.
We started our day out by being adults. Allison and I got new passports. We let them lapse from back in 2001. It is one of those things that we just put off until we really needed them. Well, we will in February but I’ll talk more about that another time.
Today we also went and checked out Aroogas. This is a new restaurant near us. It is a giant sports bar that has many different wing flavors. If we had stuck to just wings I think it would have been better but we ordered an appetizer because I had a coupon for a free appetizer. That would have been great if the waiter actually had brought the appetizer. We got the wings first and it was supposed to be at the same time as the appetizer. The appetizer never came. Then Andrew wanted some wing sauce as a side with his meal and it never came but was on the bill. I got that taken care of but it left me annoyed.
The menu is full of extra charges for things like a side of sauce and more.
Allison and I split a burger on a pretzel roll. I asked Allison if this was as good as the pretzel roll from Smashburger and it wasn’t. It was an okay burger. I don’t think that is what we’d get there next time. Maybe after they’ve been open for longer.
