DVD Review: Doc McStuffins School of Medicine

DOC McSTUFFINS: SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

We received a copy of the upcoming Disney Junior DVD, Doc McStuffins: School of Medicine to watch and review. Opinions of this DVD and series are 100% our own.

The kids enjoy watching Doc McStuffins. Every time they spend time with Doc we start to see toys that have boo boos and more various problems that are treated by the kids. I like that the show has a female lead with a little brother, very much what we have happening in the dynamic of our house. Seeing how sweet and kind-hearted Doc is with the toys and her family and friends is nice to see. The show models some great behaviors for kids.

I like this particular DVD series because the episodes explore many areas of medicine in a way that kids can easily understand. Each episode explores something different like Optometry, Dentistry and Sports Medicine. Just last week we took the kids to the Dentist. My daughter has been going a for a while now but my son is new to the whole experience. He watched my wife have her teeth cleaned and then he went for a ride in a chair and the hygienist looked at his teeth and counted them. He did pretty well with it. By seeing Doc and the toys experiencing different medical issues can help us talk with the kids when they have to experience things like seeing the eye doctor or the dentist. With doc the kids are ready and we have something common to talk about.

The DVD also came with a fun little activity for the kids. A Dress-Up Doc playset with reusable stickers.
