For almost as long as we have lived in this house, (10 Years) there has been faded a neon yellow school bus parked across the street. The school bus said Hot Dogs on it and at one time or another I am assuming that it was actually a working hot dog truck. However, I only ever saw it just sit on the lawn. For the past 10 years it sat there and today a flatbed came and took it away. I tried to capture the actual moment that it rolled away but I took a shower and turned away for 5 minutes after a half hour waiting for he truck to be load the school bus.
We got some new neighbors a few months ago. A man and a woman and then their friends. One of the friends appears to be living in his sketchy white van that he parks in front of my house. The man that lives in the apartment has a big white pickup truck. He parks it on his side of the street. The street is not big and these cars take up the whole road. I have not confronted the van man about this. I honestly don’t confront neighbors about anything. The man on the other side is too volatile and angry that I fear for my safety when talking to him. I know nothing about this guy other than he appears to live in the van and works with the guy with the white pickup truck.
We suspect this because the van is parked on the street overnight and one morning the guy in the pickup pulled his truck right up in front of the van and flashed the lights and honked the horn. Then the guy in the van got out and got in the truck. The van guy also has a cat living in the van.
I was talking with the UPS driver today who had to park his vehicle in the driveway where the neighbors live. He noticed how it was hard to park when making deliveries. We also got to talking about the other apartment on my other side. Apparently it is falling apart even more on the inside than the outside.
What to do about the van guy. Well, I took some photos of the van and sent a message to the mayor. The UPS driver said that some other streets had signs about parking on the street and I was wondering if I could get some put on our street. I explained the whole situation to him and he passed it along to the chief of police. not sure what will happen but we shall see.
