I’ll Form the Head!!! – Unboxing Classic Voltron Lions

Photo-A-Day #4741

This afternoon I decided to unbox all of my remaining Classic Voltron Lions. I received the green and blue lions from Playmates Toys. I did a review of the blue and green classic Voltron lions on the blog at back in January.

These Voltron ’84 lions are part of Playmates line of Voltron toys. I was in Target and saw that they put the last three figures on Clearance. I had to complete the set. I’ve been eager to unbox the remaining three lions and form the Classic Voltron of 1984. These toys are inspired by the Netflix series Voltron ’84 which is the classic series with intros from people who are working on Voltron: Legendary Defender, the new series on Netflix.

There is another series of Voltron figures that are out there, too. These are the five lions for Voltron: Legendary Defender and Toys R Us has a boxed set but it has not hit a deep enough discount to go and pick it up. Once it does I’ll try and grab it so I can compare the two. There is also another powered up set that is coming out later this year. The lions are going to be powered up by quintessence. Lots of translucent blue accents. They look fantastic!

For now, take a look at my live unboxing video and below that more details on this series of Voltron toys.

Can Prince Lotor Be Trusted? Find Out In Season Five of Voltron: Legendary Defender

Voltron

Season 5 of Voltron dropped on Friday and I’ve already finished it. It wasn’t a hard thing to do since it can be done in less than three hours. Season five only has six episodes but they are chock full of great action, story and character development. I still wish that the seasons were longer. I wouldn’t even mind waiting for them a little longer to have more content at one time. I’m especially curious about what happens next after seeing the upcoming toys from Playmates that were shown at Toy Fair. I kept expecting to see something happen in the show that would point to the new toys. There was sort of a hint but not as much as I would have liked. Maybe during the sixth season which would be later this year if things happen the way that they have been.

I do have a few clips and the trailer for you to watch. No major reveals here other than Lance’s newly unlocked weapon.

TRAILER:

At the start of season 5 we have the paladins capturing Lotor, Pidges brother Matt has been rescued and Zarkon has returned.

Matt and PidgeAs if the suspense wasn’t enough, we find the team shocked by Prince Lotor coming to their rescue in the fight against the evil witch Haggar, leaving the Paladins struggling with whether or not they can really trust him. Though suspicious, Team Voltron is able to liberate more rebels with the aid of Lotor’s intel. Just as things start to look hopeful, Zarkon strikes, resulting in a shocking chain of events.
