Panic in the air up in Massachusetts. All the state workers were given the day off in anticipation of the big snowstorm that was expected. Schools closed last night in anticipation of today as well. Last year there was a major snowstorm that had people stuck in traffic for hours, now if a few flakes are expected we shut down like some Southern state that hasn’t seen snow in 15 years. Snow arrived just when I was getting home from work.

Yesterday I received a package from UPS. That package contained a new little piece of tech. I decided to purchase the Flip Mino HD. This little video camera is so sweet. I got it because I had a little “stimulus package” money of my own and decided to use it to help the economy. Also I wanted something simple to use, to upload quick videos of Eva so her grandparents could see her doing fun things like Reading with Allison.
That was the 1st video I took with the flip. I’m looking forward to taking many more.
I also got to pick two “free” accessories when I bought the Flip. I got a grey neoprene case. I find it hard to remove the Flip from the case. It is a little too snug, plus if you use the wrist strap, and I’m going to use that, it doesn’t fit too well.
The other item is the Action mount. I am going to use that to strap the Flip to my bike. I haven’t read very good things about it and find that the gorillapod works much better to keep items stationary. I use the gorillapod to attach my waterproof video camera to the kayak, I’m going to test the Flip Action Mount and the gorillapod to see which works better to keep a camera stationary.
