I took Andrew to the Zoo today. Trying to tire him out as often as possible. He’s a ball of energy all the time. Getting out of the house is great because he can run and play. We’ve been cooped up all Winter with such a bitter cold and getting outside is nice. At the zoo Andrew loves to go from enclosure to enclosure and watch all the animals. He loves the goats and Alpacas. The Lions are also one of his favorites and everything in the nighttime house is fun for him.
After the zoo we went to the playground. I couldn’t believe how confident Andrew is when he climbs. He went through everything on the little kids jungle gym. Slides, chains and bars and more. He flew all over that equipment and I had to drag him away from it so I could get home and get some sleep. I think we’ll be spending a lot of time over there this Summer.
This Summer we’ve designated Wednesdays as family adventure days. We go and get out of the house to enjoy something. Today we had to go and get Eva’s uniforms for school and the place to get any uniform for schools around her is Donnelly’s. We figured that while we were down that way we’d hit up the Roger Williams Park Zoo for the afternoon.
The Roger Williams Park Zoo is a nice zoo. They have very large animals and some very small ones. There are Elephants and Giraffes and they are a big draw. The Giraffes are Eva’s favorite animals there. There is a house where they are washed and treated. The house is also used for education. We try and read all of the signage around the zoo to familiarize Eva with where the animals are from and other interesting facts.
