ThinkFun sent us a copy of the new game, Balance Beans for free for us to play with and give an honest review. This is what we thought and our honest opinion of the game.

As with all ThinkFun games that we have ever reviewed, I was impressed with the high quality of the game itself. The game pieces are bright and colorful with funny little faces on the beans. The game is also very simple on the outset but as you play the different cards it goes from simple to more complicated. The game is great for teaching children math concepts like multiplication and algebra.

The game is for ages 5 and up but you can start younger. Andrew has shown interest in math and he did well playing this game. The more abstract concepts went over his head but he used trial and error to find the solution. Once he found it I explained why it worked.

We made a little video of the game to show how it works and to introduce this game which is available for pre-order and will be released in early July.

Balance Beans is a logic game and math game all in one. Set up the Red Beans according to the Challenge Card. Then carefully place the colorful Beans on the Seesaw to keep it from teetering.
