Andrew has been doing a fantastic job working on his potty training. He has done so well that he has earned a trip to Build-A-Bear Workshop. He has wanted a Toothless plush. I’m not sure why Toothless was the thing that he wanted but he was all over it and was motivated to do well in order to earn it. He was very cute while he created his new stuffed animal. Once it was stuffed he spent a good long time “cleaning” it in the back and then it was time to choose an accessory.
Andrew chose an Avengers t-shirt and Eva chose a skirt because as you can see, Eva got herself a Toothless as well. But her Toothless is a girl. Eva has slept with it nearly every night and Andrew hasn’t spent any time with his since he brought it home.
After we made the Toothless plushes we had dinner at the Food Court and Andrew made a friend of a little old man. He was very impressed with Andrew. Allison was with him and they had a nice conversation. We ate our dinner and then headed to United Skates of America for a Fundraiser for Eva’s School.
Andrew fell asleep right before we arrived at the skating location. He stayed asleep most of the time so I had lots of time to skate with Eva. I brought my Roller Blades with me. I haven’t been on them in years. They’ve been in our garage since the day we moved to the new house. So, I had to vacuum them out because of the mice. They had spent some time inside the Roller Blades. But I got them cleaned up and back on to use.
Eva started off very unsteady on her feet. She had only been once before. I was pleasantly surprised that my ability came back to me. We got Eva the PVC trainer and she got more and more confident in herself as we went around the rink.
At first Eva wanted me right by her and t was tough to slow down to her speed but I tried. As she learned and gained confidence she didn’t mind me taking a few laps and checking back with her.
By the end of the night Eva was flying around the rink and she loved skating so much. She now wants to go twice a month. Guess we have a new activity to try and do.
It is going to be a while before Andrew starts skating with help or on his own. I tried while on my roller blades and ending up dangling him in the air. I thought his arm was going to dislocate. I changed out of my Roller Blades and tried walking along with him and got more of the same. I stopped and then Allison took over. After that was done, he didn’t last long, I put my Roller Blades back on. Then I promptly fell right on my hip and my wallet. Only fall of the night for me and it hurt, a lot.
