KING RICHARD’S FAIRE INVITES YOU TO ESCAPE REALITY, COME TO THE FAIRE
King Richard’s Faire, New England’s largest and longest-running Renaissance Faire, announces its 2016 season, to run September 3 through October 23, 2016 on weekends and Monday holidays (Labor Day, Columbus Day). Tucked away on 80 acres of enchanted forest off Rt. 58 in Carver, Mass., King Richard’s Faire announces its 35th season offering guests a full day of live, interactive entertainment for all ages. Guests will enjoy daring knights jousting on horseback and eight stages filled with song and dance, stunts and storytelling. Every Saturday afternoon, the King’s Stage offers themed contests and events to add variety to the festival-like entertainment lineup (see kingrichardsfaire.net for details).
Guests can mingle with the King and his royal court, noble and not-so-noble subjects and skilled performers. When as famished as a mud beggar, enjoy the Faire’s delicious spit-roasted turkey legs, buttery ears of corn, boules filled with chowder and stew, ringlets of fries, and quench thirst with champagne, wine and brew. Shoppers can stroll through the 16th century village filled with the wares of more than 100 unique and talented artisans, including New England artists. At every turn, guests will encounter fantasy and wonder through minstrels, musicians, acrobats, stilt walkers, giant puppets, wenches, and more.
Faire hours are 10:30a-6p every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday holidays. Tickets are $31 for adults (12+) and $16 for children ages 4-11. Children under 4 are free, and parking is free. Discounts given to groups of 25 adults or more and private parties can be accommodated (birthdays, vow renewal ceremonies, weddings). Groups may make reservations by emailing [email protected]. The people watching!
The jousting is always so much fun!
I love how by maybe 1/2 hour of being there You never want to leave..
Awesome! We’ve been on a similar fair here in Odessa recently. It was not so long and not so big as King Richard’s Faire, but still we had a great time.
BTW first photo is cool. That’s how good family portraits should look, not those boring posed pictures =) I’m family/wedding photographer and I like such emotional and funny pictures =)
Haven’t been in years but I will have to go with my kids this year…they will love it. Who doesn’t love jousting?
We love King Richards faire!! We took out 2 girls for the first time last year and our 5 year old really wants to go back to ride the unicorn again!!!!
Haven’t been there since I was a kid. I’d love to take the time to enjoy it with loved ones.
Been going for almost 30 years. I just introduced my kids to it about 3 years ago and they love it there!
My favorite part is the jousting, but I’m also really looking forward to the big cat show!
Absolutely love going with my daughter. She is amazed by everything and we love the atmosphere and all the great people.
When I was a child, I went every year with my grandparents. I was always excited to go every year. My favorite part was going to the Psychics and fortune tellers, and seeing if they were as talented as I was. There were some, but most of them were just for fun.
Very cool
I’ve never been, but my husband has and is hoping to take me and our two girls there.
Great info on the faire!
I went years ago when my kids were very little and had such a great time with my step-dad. The tiger show and the booths are my favorite. It such a magical time.
I love the jousting and the Mud Wrestlers.
Love the Faire! I have taken my now five year old every year. Our favorites are the joust and pony rides.
My family, and I have never attended King Richard’s fair, but it is on our to do list. My mom is a single mother who works a full-time job,and she’s running out of time to make memories with all of her children before I graduate and move to a college. Though I have never attended King Richard’s Fair, I believe the best part off attending would creating memories and bonding with my family before we all go our separate ways in life.
My family REALLY needs to “Step” into another world for a little while, we’ve been through so much in recent months and King Richard’s Faire is such a Wonderful Place… It’s not too far away and, would be the perfect kinda “Time-Out” for us. Good luck to all contestants and God Bless <3 !!!
I go 3-4 times per year…ALWAYS in character as Jack Sparrow, knight in full plate and various other characters…ALWAYS pose for photos, never ask for anything in return 🙂
I was a Villager at KRF last season, and it was one of the most fulfilling experiences I have ever had in my life! I couldn’t make the time commitment this year, but I would love to go just for a weekend as a patron, just to see things from the other side!
I love the jousting and watching all the artisans making their goods (blacksmith! YES!!!!!)
I love the Mud Show.
The food! My son with special needs can enjoy the shows and eat his sheppards pie. It is very hard to take him places ince I have to mash his food.
The faire is so much fun.
I love the jousting, the beer, and the leg of fowl !!!
I love the Washing Well Wenches, they give us single ladies some hope we’ll find “true love”!
Got to love the jousting, the mud show, the turkey legs and the raspberry mead. Really miss the singing executioners. Loved getting re-married there with all the others last year.
Three words: the mud eaters
My favorite part of the faire is looking at everyone’s clever costuming! It gives me ideas for my own garb to make or buy.
I go with my son every year. We started when he was about 4. He’s 13 now, and he still enjoys it. It’s a great tradition that we share. We love the jousts, the shows, and the food. Very pricey day though.
I last went to the faire when my son was 11 months. He was dressed as a knight and his stroller was fashioned with a jousting lance and shield, as well a custom kingdom flag I made. Coincidentally, he got extremely excited when watching the jousting event. He’ll be four, so we’re overdue for a visit!
Fairy garden with colored strings and soft music, like a little retreat from the busy Faire all around
My favorite part is the Joust! It’s so amazing to watch!
I love the whole feeling of being in another place and time. The atmosphere is so fun and I’m happy to be able to bring my baby twin boys this year!
My favorite part is the costumes! I love to dress up as well and be a part of the whole atmosphere.
What I love most about King Richards faire is the joy it brings to my children’s faces. I am hoping to go but no money this year for it. One job family and all.
I enjoyed the faire when I went a few years ago with my kid. He had a blast. Everything was so much fun
I’m going either way but if i win tickets, I’ll go twice 😉
The cat show!
I really like the blog!! My wife and I are hoping to take our son to his first Faire this year!!!
The best part are those turkey legs!
The wenches are always hillarious we catch a couple shows from them when we go

I love this faire, we go almost every year!
My favorite part of King Richard’s Faire is time traveler/cosplay day!
i have never been!
this would be so cool!
I have never been. I have gone to something similar (or so I believe it’s similar) in NY and my favorite part there was just seeing everyone dressed up and getting into the theme.
I’ve been sick the other years and can make it this year. I’m really looking forward to the whole thing but especially the jousters and the exotic animals as well as the many items for sale!!
I love the tigers
I love the atmosphere there and everyone that dresses up. I plan to dress up this year with friends.
I love the costumes – there all so unique and different.
I love the jousting and we also got to meet Kennedy from Mix 104.1 last year! She was so nice! I also loved meeting the King and Queen.
I would love the opportunity to bring my 3 (yes 3) boys to the event this year. I have twins who are 2 and a 6 year old who is loves dragons and knights. Thank you for this opportunity.-L
I haven’t been to the faire in years. I’d love to be able to take my kids.
Such a fun time every year when we get to go to the Faire. Can’t wait to go this year.
My favorite part of visiting King Richard’s Faire is seeing it through my boys’ eyes.
My favorite part of King Richard’s Faire is being able to get dressed up and play along with the characters. My wife and I renewed our vows last year for our 5 year wedding anniversary dressed as LOTR elves. It was magical. I’ve been attending the Faire for 32 years now.
I love looking at everyone else’s cos play and getting into character. Also a new found love is the family photo that they do.
I like the wenches, giant turkey legs, pickles and knife throwing.
