Another Saturday and another photo of the Kreons from my desk at work. It’s hard to get a photo of the day when you sleep the day away in between going to work. Driving in to work I saw another great shot that would have been perfect but would have required me to turn around and pull over to the side of the road and I just am not comfortable doing that on the highway. Especially when I saw a car flipped and in the woods along the highway this very night. There was one car in the woods and then there were about fifteen other cars stopped on both sides of the highway of the northbound lane. Lucky for the southbound drivers that all of this was hidden behind trees or else there would be some major rubbernecking from that side too.
I’ve been watching the BBC show Copper lately. I catch it on Comcast On Demand or on the Xfinity TV app on the iPad. The show is set in 1864 in Five Points, a very tough neighborhood, slum, in New York City. The main character is Detective Kevin Corcoran who is an Irish police detective who digs deeper to find the truth in the crimes he investigates. He’s aided by a Doctor Matthew Freeman, a black doctor who uses early techniques in forensic pathology to identify things like cause of death to finding out what kind of weapon killed someone. It is fascinating seeing these techniques done without super computers and all the modern technology of the day. I’m enjoying the show so far, it is only a few episodes in so you should still be able to catch up using On Demand.
