Today’s photo is of my friend Jeff from Out With the Kids. Jeff and I are both part of the Imagelogger program and are co-hosts of the podcast, Dad.fm with our third co-host Adam Cohen of DadaRocks!.
Today was the first full day of the PBS Annual Meeting for the PBS Kids VIP Bloggers. We had an immensely full day with so many fun experiences. We started off with breakfast and a session all about a new kid’s show called Nature Cat. This show looks like so much fun and we were able to chat one on one later with brothers Adam and David Rudman who are the creators of the show. David Rudman is also the puppeteer for Cookie Monster (I met him and Cookie last year). The guys really liked my Cookie Monster belt buckle.
We got to see a preview of so many shows that are coming to PBS in primetime. With it being the end of Downton Abbey there are new shows coming like a Civil War hospital drama called Mercy Street with Josh Radnor of How I met Your Mother. It looks very good.
We had a couple of breakout sessions, one with David Rudman and Adam Rubman and another to learn about the PBS online world of Kart Kingdom. It looks like it will be a big hit with kids who are about to become tweens. I think Eva will enjoy this very much.
We also had a session with the creators of Ready, Jet Go. This is a new show coming in the winter of 2016 about an Alien family that lands in a quiet suburb where the families work for a Jet Propulsion lab. The show is all about Space exploration. I think this will be a show that Eva will love, especially for the interstitials with Dr. Amy Mainzer. She is a scientist and I think she will be an inspiration about Astronomy.
We had lunch that was all about the American Experience Films which is all about Walt Disney. That will be playing September 13 & 14 and it looks really interesting. I will be watching it.
In the afternoon we took a field trip to Whole Foods for a lesson in buying healthy food for families and then we learned three different recipes from their Healthy Eating Specialist. The recipes were pretty tasty and I learned some interesting ideas for meal preparation for the family.
After our Whole Food trip we went to the Moonshine Grill for an incredible dinner. We had corndog shrimp, pretzels and pimento spread, Chicken and Waffles plus a Skillet Apple Pie. I ate so much but it was all so good.
I remember the cookie monster.
The food looks really tempting.
