Photo-A-Day #3800
We received a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutations figure. This is a Raphael Ninja Turtle to Weapon figure and it turns from turtle to his two Sai weapons. This was the second Mutations figure that I received and I like this one way better than the Ninja Turtle to the Pet Turtle. The transformation was very simple and easy enough for the kids to do right away. I could figure most of it out without the use of the instructions so that was fun. Much of it snapped into place and held very well. I made a video all about it that you can see below.
*One mistake I made in the video. There is no Donatello figure.
As you can see, it was a pretty easy transformation and the figure itself looked pretty decent. There isn’t as much maneuverability as I could have expected Legs don’t bend and arms don’t either but the legs at least need to be straight so that they work as the handles of the sai. The arms bend a very specific way in order to hide them when Raphael turns into the sai.
When the figure is transformed into the weapons they look pretty good. Most of the parts of the figure itself are saved out of the way. You still some green and brown on the handle but what you do see works for the look of the weapons.
Raphael’s hands are interesting. They are much softer and more malleable then what I’ve seen in other figures. Putting the sai into his hands is very simple but also they are in there nice and tight. The figure also stands on its own with no problems. Very well balanced.
