If you have seen the Guardians of the Galaxy then you knew to stay to the end to see the Howard the Duck final stinger, but before that there was a cute little clip and it was this:
I laughed so hard when I saw this one especially when Dave Bautista‘s, Drax whips his head around and Groot goes stock still. That completely cracked me up. It is a good thing that Groot was not flying over Drax’s head because Drax’s reflexes are so fast that he would have caught Groot. If you haven’t seen the movie, then why not? It is a pretty perfect movie overall and so very fun to watch. If you are still not sold then you have to check out all of my #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyEvent posts that I did over the past month. Two weeks ago I sat in a theater at the Walt Disney Studios and was barely keeping my excitement contained. I was about to see the new Marvel Movie, Guardians of the Galaxy (Being officially released today August 1, 2014) at the very first screening for the Press. I felt like I did as a kid when I was about to see Back to the Future in the theater for the very first time. I knew that adventure, excitement and laughter was ahead. I was eleven years old again in what has always been, in my mind the best year ever, 1985. I still cling to the things I loved from my childhood in the 80s, the toys, the movies (and movie references) and the music.
When I had first heard that a Guardians of the Galaxy movie was being made I looked into just who these Guardians were. Then on an episode of Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man the Guardians showed up to work with Spider-Man and it completely clicked for me. I got it, I got who these characters were and I wanted to know more. I read a ton of comic books about the characters. I also read wikis and scoured the internet for the latest news on the movie. I also posted a ton of news and videos and more about the movie. My excitement level for this movie has been very high for a very long time. I was not disappointed.
I was really pumped up for the Chris Pratt interview during the #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyEvent. On my way out to California I had the copy of Entertainment Weekly with Chris on the cover. I kept taking selfies with it and tweeting silly things like “Flying to California with @prattprattpratt, I hope he doesn’t commandeer the armrest.” And I took photos like this one:
Just silly stuff because when I think about Chris Pratt I think mostly about a guy who can embrace the silly and come up with something very clever. I love his delivery of lines from movies like Delivery Man and The Lego Movie. He really knocks it out of the park with his comedic timing as Peter Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy. In our group interview he completely won us over with his charm, self-deprecating humor and authenticity.
Laughter started off our interview and laughter finished it. The first question to Chris was from Mitch of Gay NYC Dad who once again gets points for the cleverest break the ice question. Mitch said, “You clearly didn’t need it but did they want you to take dance lessons?” This made all of us laugh and Chris as well. Chris’ response was “how about that, how about that kind of thing. That’s just like another element to this movie that’s like unlike anything, anyone has ever done in a way, so that’s pretty cool.” You can catch Chris’ moves in a few scenes in Guardians of the Galaxy. I know that Mitch was alluding to something later in the movie but I loved a part very early on in the movie it was so funny and not only set up who Peter Quill was in his own mind but who he aspired to be. In this latest featurette we see Chris Pratt talking about his role as Peter Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy and we even get a quick look at young Peter Quill prior to his abduction. I got to speak with Chris Pratt during the #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyEvent this past week and I even got to see the whole movie minus one thing that non one will see until it is released in theaters. Soon I’ll be posting that interview and the movie review. But I can say that it was awesome.
See that green skinned alien beauty to the left? Well that is the deadly assassin Gamorra from Guardians of the Galaxy. Gamora is played by Zoe Saldana who has a history of playing strong women in science fiction movies. She was Uhura in the new Star Trek movies and Neytiri in Avatar. Her background in dance also helps with all her physical and graceful moves int eh fight scenes.
Next Saturday I will get to meet and interview Zoe Saldana. I am very excited to see Guardians of the Galaxy and see more of Zoe in action. The short clip I saw this past Monday only gave a small taste of the incredible action that is coming. You can see more of Zoe as Gamora in this video below.
if you thought that trailer was amazing you should have seen it in IMAX like I did this past Monday night. Wow, what an amazing look at Guardians of the Galaxy. I am little over a week away from seeing the movie at the #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyEvent next week and I just learned that I’m going to interview Chris Pratt! How cool is that!
I just secured two tickets to attend this special event and they were totally free. I’m preparing myself as much as possible for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Event that I am attending in LA in July. I’ll be attending a press junket for the movie and will get to interview some people involved in the movie (I don’t know who yet). I’m so excited about seeing this movie.
MARVEL AND IMAX GIVE FANS WORLDWIDE AN AMAZING FIRST LOOK AT THIS SUMMER’S HIGHLY ANTICIPATED EPIC ADVENTURE—
MARVEL’S “GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY”
A whole new batch of Guardians of the Galaxy posters have been released and they look awesome. I’ve attached each of them here and you can click the image for the full size if you’d like to download them for screen savers or more. I am so excited to see this movie. Of all the Marvel properties that are being released as movies Guardians is the one that I know the least about. I’ve been trying to learn as much as I can about the team before I see the movie. In addition to the Star Lord poster there are posters for Gamora, Drax and also with Rocket and Groot.
I just learned about a contest in conjunction with the release of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. The contest is called Guardians of Good and Marvel, along with a host of great sponsors and companies (see below) are looking for young teens who are working to better their communities through their efforts. The winners will even get to attend the Premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy (something that I am hoping to do myself). If you know of a teen in your community who is making a difference and is a true Guardian of Good then please encourage them to apply for this contest. Please take a look below at the overview and then head to the website http://www.marvelguardiansofgood.com for all the official rules, eligibility requirements and more.
No, it is not another version of the awesome Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer that was released on Monday but rather it is the YouTube embedded trailer that you can watch right here. I said I’d update my previous post on the trailer but instead I’m going to post again but this time with the trailer embedded and a sweet new shot of the team (above). I do encourage you to go read my thoughts on the second Guardians of the Galaxy trailer, though. Enjoy the awesome trailer below.
