Today is my 35th birthday. I had a decent day overall. The best part was having dinner at Red Robin with Allison, Eva and Uncle “Troopa” Mike. It was really a delicious free birthday burger that I made custom. American Cheese, Blue Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Bacon, Extra Pickles and Fry Sauce. The wait staff came by and brought me a sundae too.
I’m starting my 5th year of Photo-A-Day. I’m really excited about the year ahead of photos. Starting 1st with the upcoming Digital Days next weekend. I am looking forward to improving my skills.
Before Blogs, Brews and Belly Laughs I, I contacted ZINK Imaging about possibly getting some ZINK paper. What I got was two Polaroid PoGos and a ton of ZINK paper. ZINK means Zero Ink and this paper is marvelous stuff. For one thing it slightly smaller than a business card and it has a sticky backing. What I did at BBBL was take photos with people using my XShot and a custom timer on my Canon SD800is. Then I would print the best image out on ZINK paper. I would then peel off the backing of the ZINK paper and stick that to my business cards and give that to the people that I met.
Here is why this is a good idea.
1. Taking a photo with someone creates that shared experience.
2. While the photo prints – about a minute or so you can give that person your elevator pitch.
3. The person walks away with your business card and a unique experience sure to make them remember who you are.
