My good friend Autumn is raising money for MDA’s Stride & Ride for “Jerry’s Kids”. Autumn and I were neighbors back when I was very young, like 5 years old and younger. We hung out all the time and had play dates. I remember playing Hungry Hungry hippos and watching creature double feature on channel 56 at her house. I of course was a big scardey cat and was afraid to watch Frankenstein. I clearly remember that being on TV one time. Continue reading Help Autumn raise money for MDA…

Short Film: Bomb
Have you heard about On The Lot? On The Lot is a new reality show that is coming to Fox. And Fox and I are in a fight over the cancellation of Drive. Not at all happy about that. Anyway On The Lot is the search for th next big filmmaker and I want you to take a look at Bomb by Paul Schuyler. The video was okay. We weren’t overly thrilled, but some of the scenes were interesting.I liked the one where the main guy opens his eye and you see the pupil dilate. It was pretty cool.
I know about this show and this video in particular because of my Uncle Murph. He is on the fire department on the cape and part of the short film was done with the Chatham Fire and Police Department and part was filmed at the Chatham Elementary School. So please take a look at the short film, I think he has some potential if given time to hone his craft. Watch: Bomb
Some more about On The Lot. I do not generally like reality shows, however I was a fan of Last Comic Standing because I really enjoy comedy. Well I really enjoy movies and this is being produced by Steven Spielberg. So I may look into this show.
From Mark Burnett, Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks Television, ON THE LOT affords aspiring filmmakers the opportunity of a lifetime: a $1-million DreamWorks development deal. And, 12,000 people submitted their films for consideration. ON THE LOT will feature filmmakers who will produce short films in every genre every week and the viewers will vote on who gets eliminated. The show will premiere with a one-hour auditions episode on Tuesday, May 22.
They have also announced the judges for the audition shows.
Actress, author and screenwriter Carrie Fisher (“Star Wars,” “Postcards From The Edge”), as well as directors/producers Brett Ratner (“Rush Hour 3,” “X-Men 3: The Last Stand”), Garry Marshall (“Georgia Rule,” “Princess Diaries,” “Pretty Woman”) and Job Avnet (“The Starter Wife,” “Fried Green Tomatoes,” “Risky Business”), will serve as judges for the series’ two “audition” episodes airing Tuesday, May 22 9/8c and Thursday, May 24 9/8c on FOX. Judges for additional rounds will be announced at a later date.
So the lineup looks to be interesting. If I can get over Fox screwing over the shows I like then maybe I might watch this show when it comes out.
