Photo-A-Day #920 10/15/07

The wonderful days with Eva continue. I’m off for two weeks and my main purpose for those two weeks is to help Allison care for Eva and settle into our new life together. We are starting to get a bit of a hang to this parenthood thing. For one thing I don’t think Eva caught us with a stealth pee today. She nailed us each yesterday. But you live and learn. Scratch that, I just changed her before she went to bed an she nailed me. I let my guard down.

Today we gave Eva her first washcloth bath since she has been home. Well, Allison gave her the bath and I took photos. We had to have photos of the first bath. I added a few to the Baby Eva gallery on flickr.

I’ve been working on figuring out how the munchkin iCrib works correctly. It seems to be way too loud and I can’t figure out how to make it lower. I’ve taken to putting music on while I change her. She seems to be calmed down more when I play the music.

Speaking of music, I spent a little while with Eva so Allison could sleep a little while. I put in the tribute to John Lennon CD. And we hung out. And I read to her a bit and we both fell asleep. I guess being tired can really sneak up on you.

We took Eva for a little walk this afternoon. We stopped off at the yarn store so Allison could say hi to the woman who owns it. She wasn’t there but another woman who worked there was. Then Allison stopped home and I went up to Bob’s market with Eva to get some broccoli for dinner. The day was pretty calm overall and we had a nice time, we caught up on a few shows and started getting some more things done in the new bathroom. I have to prime and paint it this week too.

I finally made a post about all the shows that we caught up on this past week. I like our LCD TV but it is a little small int he entertainment center. It isn’t so much a priority anymore. Reading to the baby and changing diapers is the priority these days.

Check out Foxytunes and the ability to insert the music that you are playing on your computer into your blog posts, twitter, and e-mails.

Congratulations Sr. Pat.

Yesterday I went to Sr. Pat’s 50th jubilee celebration mass. It was at my old High School. Going back there was weird especially after so long and also with all the planning that has been happening with the 15 year reunion. People are starting to decide to respond and I’ve been getting money and rsvps this week.

Sr. Pat is the lifeblood behind Bishop Feehan High School. Sr. Pat has worked their for 38 years and she is still as kind and caring as she was when she first started there. She truly embodies what it means to be Christ for others. I’ve seen her do it and she was a big influence on my life in High school. That leading by example carried with me throughout my life as well. When you need someone to talk to who will listen and tell it like it is and you thank her for that, think of Sr. Pat. When you want someone in your corner pulling for you to succeed, think of Sr. Pat. When everyone else looks at you like you can’t do it, Sr. Pat is there encouraging you keep trying.

I took a few photos at the Jubilee.
