I hate to complain about work because well, my awesome boss likes to read this blog from time to time and I really like where I work, I’ve been able to travel the world and had some exciting adventures. I don’t think any other job could afford me such fun and travel opps. I think that because of the job I am a much better blogger than I would be if I was home day in and day out. My experiences would be so much more limited, my connections so much less far reaching and my photos would be of the same four walls all the time. However, I leave for a two week vacation in three days. Don’t worry I won’t be taking a vacation from blogging by any stretch. In fact on vacation I’ll be going to two of the biggest blogging conferences around: Blog World Expo and IZEAFest 2008. The wait and the anticipation is getting to me though. I have had demos every day this week and while things have worked out so far tomorrow will be an experience unlike any other, and I’m not that excited about it. I worry about doing a poor job, I know it will be fine but I worry.
The other thing I am worrying about it how I will be as a moderator for the Big Money Bloggers Panel. I know I’ll relax once it gets started and I hope that I get a chance to chat with the panelists prior to the event so I’m more at ease with them. I just get nervous about such things up until they actually happen. So I’ve been fretting about this demo for the past week but once it starts I’ll be fine.
You may be visiting this blog for the first time because I went friend crazy today and yesterday on Facebook. I started with tagging my photos with people (I love that feature) and realized that some people in my photos were not friends of mine on facebook so I searched for them and then more and then more. I even went on out to Sacred Heart University folks from the year that I worked there. I caught up with friends from grade school college high school and various other times in my life. Wow, I hadn’t realized the power of that network before today. I owe that to Allison and also to Ted Murphy for tagging photos that I was in and introducing me to the concept.
So the title, hanging in, I’m hanging in there waiting for our flight on Saturday morning. Hope to be poolside by noon finishing a good book. The Peanut Buster Parfait? Well, that is also a helpful little hang on too. Must finish up Bones 2 hour season premiere is on and then I may check out Sons of Anarchy on FX. It will be weird to see Ron Perlman without any red makeup on.
And a great thing came for me in the mail today. I came home to two bottles of Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce. I won them from Lisa’s contest on her blog Lisa Cooking. We had chicken pot pie tonight and so I couldn’t use it. So once we get home from vacation I’ll make up some of the recipes that were included with the bottles of sauce.
