I took a cue from the awesome Mark Eccleston and made my own 2008 calendar through LuLu.com. I am selling them for $15.00 each.
Why that much? Well, Lulu production is $11.29 each, then Lulu also takes a $0.74 commission per calendar. I get $2.97 per calendar. However I am donating $2.00 The whole $2.97 from each calendar to help The Machinski Family.
Becky Machinski went to high school with me, she got cancer and recovered, her husband Mike has cancer and is still in recovery, he has had 120 radiation treatments! with all that time treating cancer the money that they had dwindled to nothing. The family needs some financial help. Mike and Becky have 3 beautiful daughters and they have all sacrificed so much and need some financial help.
My High School Reunion is November 24th and on that day I would like to present the Machinski’s with a check for $200.00 $300 from the sales of these calendars. My goal is to sell 100 calendars by November 24th.
Can you help me do that?
Will you spread the word to all your blogging friends and family?
Here are the images that make up the calendar. Click for larger images.
Also, it has been brought to my attention that some people would not like a calendar but would like to donate anyway, so I set up this paypal donate button. Please donate if you are so inclined.
Hi Drew,
Great selection for your calendar, i particually enjoy the front cover and the sunflower. I hope it goes well with your sales as am sure the Machinski’s appreciate what you are doing.
Just wondering if you are going to pop up anywhere else tonight??
Cheers Mark
Thanks very much Mark. I was truly inspired by your creativity and I hope I can do well with these to help my former classmate.
Hi Drew, A great calendar and a lovely thing to do to donate the money to your former classmate.

What an amazing calendar and an amazing thoughtful plan.
Thanks Sara, I hope I hit my goal. I’d love any publicity you send my way. I’d really love to smash my goal actually. I appreciate the kind words.
Thanks very much Lynne, I’d really appreciate any buzz you could help me generate. I’d really like to smash my goal and give the Machinski’s a bigger check. Glad you liked the calendar.

Two, that is fantastic! And thanks for the post as well.
Hi. I stumbled here via a few links here and there. Long story short, I am a cancer survivor and I applaud what you’re trying to do for your friends. I was diagnosed when I was 24 years old, just 10 weeks after my wedding. I had also just graduated from college, started my first professional job, bought a house (all within 6 months prior to the diagnose). What was supposed to be honeymoon phase and at the top of the world in my life, came crashing down. I was the first person in my extended or immediate family to have had cancer. I was extremely healthy, until that. I had chemo and radiation for about 10 months.
I am now in my 6th year of remission, with 2 beautiful children, and still with my husband who went through (cancer) hell and back with me.
We just launched our business not too long ago. We donate a percentage of ALL our sales to children related charities. At the moment, we concentrate on pediatric cancer. Our website is http://www.KangarooBoo.com
My best wishes to your friends. My thoughts are with them.
Hi sweetisu,
Thanks very much for stopping by my blog. I am a new dad and as such I have just started a new blog as a resource for dads. Your KangarooBoo site looks great. I would love to write a feature about it on my blog readtomedad.com sometime.
I love my new calendar! The pictures are awesome. Thanks Drew.
Thanks Karen, I am glad that you are enjoying the calendar. I ordered one for myself and gave it to Ashley at IZEA. He’s supposed to write something up about it.
