Five Must See Things at King Richard’s Faire This Season

I’ve been attending King Richard’s Faire since I was in college. I really enjoy going and seeing all the acts, eating the food and looking for fun things to photograph. I also love all the little shops with the hand made artisan items like leather book covers, pet dragons, metalwork and more.

For the past few years my family has been hosted by King Richard’s Faire to attend. This year we went on Labor Day which was on opening weekend. We always get there right before the doors open. this year we caught the whole welcoming skit and got to see some of the actors before the day started. We were quite entertained by roving musician Angus McPherson. He would play music and argue with a pirate. He was very entertaining.

While we waited for the doors to open we looked at the schedule of events and decided what we would try to see for the day. There is a lot of things to do and many great acts. Be sure to take some cash with you to tip the acts for there great performances. That is how they get paid at the Faire. Eva was thrilled to be the one to go up and give each performer money after enjoying such amazing shows. Here are the Five Must See Things at King Richard’s Faire for 2014 (according to what we saw and did on our trip). Continue reading Five Must See Things at King Richard’s Faire This Season

DVD Review: My Little Pony – Friendship is Magic: Spooktacular Pony Tales

I admit it, I’m a Brony and I enjoy watching My Little Pony with or without the kids. When I received the opportunity to review the latest compilation of My Little Pony episodes in the form of My Little Pony – Friendship is Magic: Spooktacular Pony Tales I was excited to do so. So we received a copy of the DVD to watch and review. While it may be a little too early for Halloween it was not too early to watch these spooky episodes.

When the kids saw the box they wanted to watch the DVD right away. My daughter was particularly excited even though things tend to frighten her, even spooky episodes of My Little Pony. The comic book sort of freaked her out once but I said sure and we gave it a try. She did great watching all of the episodes and wasn’t scared once. She even corrected me when I showed her the mini poster from inside the DVD box. I said, “Are you sure you aren’t going to be scared by… NIGHTMARE MOON!” She told me I was being silly and that was Princess Luna and I shouldn’t feel scared about her. Smart kid.

Each episode was full of fun antics and smart, funny dialog between the big six ponies. There were six episodes on the DVD and also a special Sing-Along song from the episode titled Bats. That one was funny about a little magic backfiring and catching poor Fluttershy and transforming her.

There is more about the DVD below in the Press Release.
