I think that we have seen the very last of the tomatoes for the season. Our tomatoe plant has seen much better days and the tomatoes that are one the plant are tiny and unripe. They are also starting to fall off the plant or have been knocked off by animals or Andrew. I found these two little ones and liked how they looked. Cool coloring on each of them.

My Review of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, #VeryBadDay
In what seems like forever ago I was flown out to California and put up in a great hotel to see a bunch of movies and meet stars and have a great time. Not one of those days was a #VeryBadDay but I did get to see an advanced screening of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
The movie is one of the best family comedy movies to come out in a very long time. I will put the emphasis on family because this is a movie I could bring both kids to see and wouldn’t feel in the least bit concerned about anything they saw or heard in the movie. On top of it being a family movie it was laugh out loud funny. And on top of that it had a really good heart to the movie. This was a family that you could get behind and cheer for even as they had the worst day of their lives.
“Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” is inspired by the children’s book of the same name. Even though it does not go to the letter by the book the book is a starting point for a much richer story about family and enjoying the good and the bad days. I love how the movie incorporated so much from the book in different ways. It took small mentions in the book and made them bigger plot points and expanded the backstory of the character of Alexander. Mainly his mentions of Australia. In the book, Australia is this magical place for Alexander and that is expanded in the movie to many comical moments. It also has two moments where I jumped out of my seat. Think loud noises and unexpected surprises.
I don’t want to give anything away about what happens in the movie but it is safe to say that Alexander has a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, but his family seems to live charmed lives until Alexander makes a birthday wish and his world is no longer turned upside down. His family, however, well, their seemingly charmed lives take a turn for the Terrible, the Horrible, the No Good and the Very Bad.
I enjoyed Steve Carell in this movie very much. He’s a guy who always has a positive outlook. He’s out of work and is taking care of the family. He goes to Mommy and Me classes with the youngest child. This rings so true with me, other than being out of a job, but I am now the only adult home during the day and I have my son to watch after. I take him to play group and am almost always the only dad in the room. And so help me if anyone calls me a “Fommie” after seeing this movie they will have a Very Bad Day.
The movie is such a sweet, charming, funny and family one. I cannot wait to take Eva to see it.
