Helping Daddy Rake Leaves

Photo-A-Day #3477

The leaves on our front tree are all but gone. It was past time to get out and do some raking. I fed Andrew lunch and then declared that we would be going out to rake the leaves. He was very excited to help. If only his ability matched his enthusiasm and willingness to help. It is rare when you can get both the excitement to help and the ability to do so in one kid. I know, I remember being a kid and having to rake leaves. I never liked it and still don’t as an adult, although it isn’t as bad as when I was a kid.

I got both kids some small rakes because they always try and use the one that I am using. They are really just play tools and Andrew hasn’t figured out which side is up yet. His idea of raking was to walk through the piles while dragging his rake upside down. Then he abandoned it all together and started jumping in the pile.

We weren’t doing too much serious raking anyway. I wanted to rake up some leaves for a set of novelty bags that I got at Big Lots. They were of a pumpkin, ghost and Frankenstein monster. They were plastic and cheap and very, very small. We filled up six bags, 3 of each kind, and called it a day.

We started our day with breakfast out with Grandfather over at Morin’s. Andrew enjoyed eggs and hot dogs (Sausages). I did Eggs and bacon. We both had a nice time with Grandfather.

Praise for Breakfast for Dinner

I’ll tell you right now, I have no clue what Andrew is doing. During dinner he starts conducting an invisible symphony. Raising his head and arms to the sky while closing his eyes. I asked him what he was doing and he just turned and looked at me and laughed like crazy. It may have been breakfast for dinner, which he loves.
