Get Your Copy of Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Battle for the Book!

Photo-A-Day #3570

We received a copy of Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Battle for the Book on DVD to watch and review. Opinions are 100% our own.

Eva and I sat down to watch this DVD because she is a fan of Izzy from Jake and the Never Land Pirates. Izzy has always been her favorite character. Even after watching the show Eva does some pretend play as Izzy. At this point in the series Jake and the Never Land Pirates have met a lot of people who are part of the Never Land mythos. They have met Peter Pan and Tinker Bell and now they I think this is the first time that Wendy and John and Michael have been on the show. The basic story to this episode is that Jake and his pals are recruited by none other than Peter Pan to help Wendy and the Darling children when Captain Hook steals Wendy’s book of stories about Never Land.

The episode is a good one with lots of fun where the “puny pirates” are working together to help save the book from Captain Hook. Captain Hook does not like hearing himself portrayed as a bumbling oaf and that is why he sets off to steal Wendy’s Book. Through the course of the story we learn that it is Wendy’s book that is keeping their stories including Captain Hook’s story alive. Without the book then their stories cannot be told or shared.

The DVD also contains additional 4 additional episodes plus 10 cartoon shorts, “Jake’s Never Land Pirate School” and an exclusive pirate bandana that doubles as a checkerboard. You’ve to to pass the time sailing on Bucky or the Jolly Roger somehow. Why not play some checkers.

Here are some fun activity sheets that you can print out and play.

Closeup on Beads

Photo-A-Day #3569

Eva decided tonight, about 15 minutes before bed, that she wanted to get out her Circle of Creativity and do a craft. Well, she didn’t end up doing the craft but instead I set up the strings for her to make a special friendship bracelet. She’ll probably end up making it another day.

I had to take my photo of the day and some shots for the Imagelogger program so I took out my macro lens and took a bunch of shots of the strings and the other things in the creativity box. I liked how the beads looked with the light from my Kick.
