Wallykazam! Special “The Big Goblin Problem” Airs Tomorrow

We love Wallykazam in this house. It is a funny program with some good literacy lessons contained within. The characters are fun and interesting. One of the most interesting is the silly goblin named Bobgoblin. Bobgoblin likes to cause all sorts of trouble with his shenanigans and this time in an hour long special he is up to his tricks again. But this time he’s causing trouble on a much larger scale. This time Wally will be joined by his Uncle Steve who will be voiced by Parks and Recreation’s Ben Schwartz. IT promises to be a fun episode.

NEW YORK – Feb. 2, 2015 – Nickelodeon serves up a whopping, word-tastic episode of Wallykazam! with the debut of the hour-long special, “The Big Goblin Problem,” on Friday, Feb. 6, at 12:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation) guest stars on the hit animated preschool literacy series as Wally’s Uncle Steve, a master dragon rider who goes on adventures and stops trouble. Wallykazam! ranked as the number-one preschool series in its time period during fourth quarter 2014.

In “The Big Goblin Problem,” Wally’s Uncle Steve and his dragon, Victoria, visit and bring magic bubbles that double what they pop on. Bobgoblin finds the bubbles and doubles his favorite thing…himself! Wally and Norville must save the day before the Bobgoblins cover the town in their favorite snack — strawberries and pickle pudding.

Beginning Feb. 2, Bobgoblin will be taking over www.nickjr.com and the Nick Jr. App. Kids can find a ton of BobGoblin videos, including five additional Wallykazam! episodes and an exclusive first look of “The Big Goblin Problem.” The special will be available to watch on the Nick Jr. App beginning Feb. 13.

Wallykazam! follows the adventures of a troll named Wally and his pet dragon, Norville, who live in a forest with giants, goblins, ogres, sprites and other mythical creatures. Wally uses his magic stick to make words come to life on screen that playfully transform the world around him. Wallykazam! is Nickelodeon’s first preschool series that embeds a literacy curriculum into a full-length story, introducing skills such as letter and sound identification, rhyming, vocabulary development and comprehension strategies. Created by producer/writer Adam Peltzman (Emmy Award-winning The Backyardigans and Bubble Guppies), the series regularly airs weekdays at 10:00 a.m. (ET/PT).

I am going bald. I know it and anyone who looks at my head knows it. I have been wearing my hair fairly short for a while now but when it gets long, you can really see the baldness setting it. So, I decided to go super short this time around. I figure that eventually it is going to be pretty shiny up top there and I should get used to it.

It was also time for Andrew to get a haircut. He’s a lucky kid because he’s going to have really good thick hair for his lifetime. He was pretty good for his haircut but was more fidgety this time around. I don’t think he enjoys it as much as he used to. I think he’s figured out that he doesn’t like sitting still for that long.

Tonight I recorded another episode of Dad.Fm with Adam and Jeff. I think that we have exhausted the topic of Skylanders for our listeners. We’ll be switching up the format soon and that will be interesting for more short discussions.
