Ever since I heard the news earlier today about Donkey Kong and Bowser I’ve been so excited. I’m excited most of all that there will finally be some great looking figures for these characters. No more random plastic posts keeping the figures up. The sculpts on the Skylanders SuperChargers figures are incredible. Donkey Kong with a hand plant on the engine, just amazing. Bowser there with his giant hammer is also perfect. I watched a fun video from CoinOpTv that had Robert speaking with Lou from Activision about the attacks each character can do and they take great care to keep the long history of each character in place when they do their attacks. For instance Donkey Kong has an attack that goes all the way back to the original Donkey Kong. Wow!
I open up my e-mail while at lunch and get this press release below. I am blown away! I can’t believe that Skylanders will have Nintendo characters Donkey Kong and Bowser as playable figures in Skylanders SuperChargers. But on top of that the figures themselves can also work as amiibo figures. That is an innovative way to incorporate two types of technologies into one game. I’m only speculating here but I wonder if that opens things up to there being some Skylanders characters making their way into some Nintendo games like Super Smash Brothers or Mario Kart. It makes you think.
