Today was National Siblings Day. It was also the day for Marriage Prep. Allison and I have been on this team for a few years now and it is always a good day. We had a great day together. We met some very nice people including a couple of zookeepers from our local zoo. We have some contacts for special tours now.
This morning started off with Church and then went down to Mackie’s for breakfast with my parents. They took us out for a great meal.
And then after breakfast Allison and I were in for a full day with a group of engaged couples and the rest of the marriage prep team.
After that I had to get to work early so that I could take photos of people for their work IDs.
Today was my 42nd birthday. In addition to being alive for 42 years I have also been taking a photograph every single day for 11 straight years. I started back in 2005 and haven’t shown any signs of stopping yet.
I worked last night so I came home, went to the gym and Target and then came home to sleep for a few hours. I got up and Allison and the kids were very busy while I was a asleep with getting some surprises ready for my birthday. They made cupcakes and cookies for me and gave me some great cards, toys and tshirts. They know me so well. The kids got me a Star Wars tshirt and Allison got me another one. Eva got me a book and Allison got me some Funko Pops for Captain America: Civil War.
Then it was time to get ready for the Father/Daughter Dance. Eva had been excited for weeks leading up to this dance. She has had her dress for a while and has kept it completely hidden from me because she wanted it to be a big surprise. She looked so beautiful in her dress and was thrilled to see the wristlet that I had gotten for her and even more thrilled when the colors went so well with her dress.
The dance was a lot of fun. We sat with some of Eva’s friends. Had a good time on the dance floor and came home at the very end of the night. Eva was wiped out and so was I. This going to work taking a day off and going back to work is for the birds. Not to mention that tomorrow Allison and I would be at Marriage Prep for the entire day. No chance of a nap.
