Recording Interviews and Assembling Tanks

Dice Game by Andrew

It was quite a busy day today. I started it off by working on the World of Tanks, tank and almost finishing the whole thing. I have a small amount left to go. This has been interesting assembly for me because it took a lot of time to put it together but it was fun to do overall.

Then it was time to take Andrew to school and I forgot my gym clothes so that was a wasted day for that. I went home and took care of a few things before returning to get Andrew from school.

It was time to get home and do the rest of the activities for the day. I recorded a couple of episodes with Chris and Don from Dad Spotlight. We talked first about the Toys to Life video game genre and then about the Summer of Super Heroes and the toys that are being put out for those movies. It was fun getting a chance to work with those guys once again.

After that it was time for a Twitter Party about Ring Video Doorbell. That was a great time. We had a fun time. One lucky winner got a great prize package with the video doorbell, stick up cam and solar panel charger. It is a really cool setup. I am looking forward to actually installing mine.

after the twitter party I had a phone interview with Joe Nieves from the Disney Channel show, “Stuck in the Middle”. It was a very nice interview about being a dad and what it is like to play a father of seven. Neither of us could actually imagine that being the reality.

TMNT 2 Out of the Shadows Toys

I went to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows today after I woke up from my morning nap. I was not a fan of the previous movie but after seeing that Stephen Amell would be in TMNT2 and then to find out that characters Bebop and Rocksteady would also be in the movie I got interested. I was pleasantly surprised by the movie.

The second installment was a marked improvement over the first movie. One issue with the previous movie was the lack of action with the turtles and a terrible origin story. With that first movie out of the way and all but forgotten in my mind I could certainly go and enjoy this movie with an open mind. The action was non stop with very little downtime and that was cool. Amell did a good job portraying Casey Jones but he was a bit too clean cut for it, not rough enough around the edges. Not enough action with him either.

Bebop and Rocksteady were some big time fun additions to the movie. They were also crude and disgusting in a humorous way and I’m sure that younger fans are going to love them. The character designs for these two were awesome. I liked them better than the turtles but the turtle’s looks have grown on me.

I wouldn’t dig too deeply into this movie. It is definitely a popcorn chomper full of mega action that defies all sorts of physics and logic. Plot holes that you could drive The Tartaruga Brother’s Garbage Truck through. It doesn’t matter because the movie is fun, visually cool and a good kick off to the Summer.

In the video below I give you more of my review and also I unbox a bunch of great Turtles toys from Playmates.
