The Walt Disney Signature Collection Beauty and the Beast 25th Anniversary Edition

Beauty And The Beast 2016 25th Anniversary Edition Blu-rayBeauty and the Beast is one of those movies that are filled with Disney Magic. I enjoyed watching it 25 years ago and seeing Disney come back into the heights of amazing animation and storytelling. It had everything. action, humor, romance, great animation and great music. Now 25 years later it is coming to DVD as a Walt Disney Signature Collection Edition. We were just going through our Disney DVDs and noticed that we do not have Beauty and the Beast on Disney Movies Anywhere. We’ll have to get that in September.

Twenty-five years ago, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast broke ground as the first animated feature film to receive an Academy Award® nomination for best picture, and now this tale as old as time joins the Walt Disney Signature Collection. The Blu-ray release will include the original theatrical film; an extended version with the “Human Again” song sequence and a never-before-released on home entertainment sing-along version. The original work-in-progress version will be available digitally and on Disney Movies Anywhere.

Relive the magic on Sept. 6 on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere, and on Sept. 20 on Blu-ray™ and DVD.

Are you up for Adventures… in Babysitting?

When I was a kid I loved the movie, Adventures in Babysitting. It didn’t hurt that I had a big crush on Elisabeth Shue and the whole movie was so much fun. An adventure movie in the big city where the kids get into all sorts of hi-jinks and the babysitter saves the day. The movie also had Vincent D’Onofrio as Thor. It is one of those classic 80’s movies that were so full of fun.

Cut to nearly 30 years later and Disney Channel has remade the movie with some of their stars, Sabrina Carpenter (“Girl Meets World”) and Sofia Carson (“Descendants”). This is going to be a movie that I know Eva will love because she’s already a fan of Sabrina Carpenter in her role as Maya in “Girl Meets World” and Eva is such a “Descendants” fan that her last birthday was themed as such. Plus, I think it will probably be a fun adventure movie that might become one of her classics. I’m interested in seeing the movie to see if there are any subtle nods to the original. It would be super cool if the parents ended up being Elisabeth Shue and Keith Coogan. I know that they aren’t but that would have been something for the original fans.

But this is a brand new adventure and it is on Disney Channel now and it will be available on DVD starting June 28th. More information below.
