Each year PBS KIDS has their annual “Explore the Outdoors” imitative which kicks off on April 10th with a week of new episodes from WILD KRATTS and NATURE CAT! It’s an Earth Month celebration as the STEM focused shows encourage families to head outside and explore what’s in their own backyard.
Kids can continue the discovery within their community as more than 30 local PBS member stations will be hosting Earth Month-related events such as lessons on local ecology to urban hiking and biking trails. For even more hands-on learning activities, families can explore the activities and materials available on PBS PressRoom.
New digital content includes WILD KRATTS’ “Aviva’s Eel-ectric Challenge,” a game that teaches kids about electromagnetic fields with electric eels. The game is available on pbskids.org and on the free PBS KIDS Games app. Nature Cat’s Great Outdoors app is also available for download on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play.
