Cars 3 Hits the Big Screen and Cars 3: Driven to Win Hits the Small.

Cars 3 Race Lightning

This has been an exciting week of video games for the Nintendo Switch. Warner Bros. Interactive sent me a download code for the game Cars 3: Driven to Win for free. Opinions on the movie are all my own and also the reactions of my kids.

This exciting driving game based on the Cars 3 movie that came out in theaters today has been so much fun to play. It is more than a driving game, there are some fun tracks to run based on all the cool tracks that Lightning McQueen races in the movie. the game picks up after the movie and so if you haven’t see the movie there may be some spoilers. Don’t worry about that, go see the movie, it is fantastic!

The game is a lot of fun to play. The controls are easy to use and what I love about playing the game on the switch is that I have two sets of joycon which would allow the whole family to race at the same time. So far, though, we haven’t all been together for more than 15 minutes at all. Andrew and I have played and then I played more by myself. I tried a whole bunch of joycon combinations, dual joycons, a single joycon and both on the Nintendo Switch itself. It was a smooth transition as far as controls.

Cars 3 Crazy8s

The game is also funny. In the movie Lightning McQueen has been racing for a few years and he has a good relationship with the other drivers. They are out there having fun and teasing each other. That is happening in the game.

You can also do backwards driving and aerial stunts. I love the stunts!

Cars 3 Cruz Ramirez and Jackson Playground Loop

I’m trying to get my characters as high as they can go and get all the awards. There are a ton of characters to choose from, too. New characters and original ones, different repaints and styles. There are also so many play modes. I love Battle! I love that you can race in the crazy 8 track from the movie. That was insane!

Cars 3 Crazy8s Track Ms Fritter

You can see more about the game in the video below. then after that is the full press release.

Eva Reviews It! – My Meaningful Life Journal

My Meaningful Life

Peaceable Kingdom gave us a copy of their My Meaningful Life Journal for free. Opinions of it are 100% our own.

Based on my daughter’s reaction to receiving it, this is a great journal for kids. There are so many fun activities to do inside for kids to discover more about themselves. The journal is all hers and it is a way for her to explore and express all of her personal innermost feelings, both the good and not so good. It also has activities for her to do to make her laugh when she may be feeling down. The journal is for ages 4 and up but I think it works better for older kids who are able to write things themselves and who are just starting to discover their own ways of self-expression.

This year has had its ups and downs by way of emotions for Eva. She is a deep thinking, a thought processor and she feels things on such a personal level. She’s had some moments with friendships that have kept her (and us) up at night. Luckily, Eva and Allison went to a Mom and Me empowerment program and through it they started using a shared journal. Eva can write in that journal (different than the My Meaningful Life one) and leave it on Allison’s pillow when there are things that she wants to talk about. Eva takes time to process things and she does so often through writing. This shared journal has shed light on much this year. I hope that they continue to use it together and Eva continues to use the My Meaningful Life Journal as well.

Now that Eva has been using the My Meaningful Life Journal for several weeks I know that it has made an impact. There are some great activities inside and she is one to work through all of them. Using this journal will encourage her (on top of the encouragement she receives from us) to more self-expression and self-discovery.

The My Meaningful Life journal is $15.99 and can be found at http://www.peaceablekingdom.com/product-detail/my-meaningful-life. There are also a bunch of other guided journals for kids including some for them to take to Summer Camp.
