Last Friday we spent part of our day at the Pea Poddery painting some ceramic pieces. I took an awfully long time painting this head over and over again. I had to make sure that I got at least 3 coats on the whole thing in order to get the blue the darkest it could possibly be. I wanted to make sure that the dragon also had spots where the blue wasn’t as dark and that there was also some purple. I am really happy with how it came out. They had some special paint that exploded little bits of sand or something to make it speckled. That gave some interesting texture to the paint job.
I had just started listening to Eragon again and of course Game of Thrones has been on my mind. So I was inspired to paint my dragon like Saphira and the White Walker Dragon, Viserion. Although Viserion would probably be closer to a whitish-blue.
I’ve now seen Avengers: Endgame twice and the secodn time was even better than the first. Not the quality of the viewing because last night’s Dolby viewing was spectacular. The thing that made the second time around better was knowing what was coming and feeling the emotional weight of the movie and scenes. This movie brought together everything that has gone on for the past 10 years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I’ve seen every single one of the movies that came beforehand, read tons of the comics and so much more. I’ve interviewed actors, producers, directors and even Marvel Studios head, Kevin Feige. It was so satisfying to see where this movie took the fans after all this time. I felt a part of the whole experience and seeing the storylines wrapped up for some characters while new storylines starting for others it makes me excited for the next ten years.
The next step for me is to rewatch all the movies with Eva. She already enjoys some of the later movies but to find out about where the stories began with Iron Man will be so cool to see it all again through her eyes. Then, when Andrew is older I’ll watch them with him. He isn’t as interested right now with the movies.
One very sad thing was that this movie had Stan Lee’s last cameo ever. It is also a very fitting one as well.
