Stony Brook Field Trip

I was a chaperone for Andrew’s class field trip today. We went to the Stony Brook Audubon Sanctuary to learn about insects. It was pretty fascinating when the kids got to poke around in some pond muck and find some different insects. Andrew was very excited about this field trip and I think he was happy that I was able to go along. I had a nice time.

The kids did not find a lot of insects but they did find different things in the water. There were damselflies, dragonflies and more. I forget what stage they were in but they’ll be growing a bit more soon. We did not find any crayfish or tadpoles, though. It has been too cold for them so far this year. I couldn’t believe how many things the kids found. What I could believe was that each kid would say that they were the ones who caught whatever creepy crawlie our guide showed them.

Looking for bugs
Andrew and a classmate looking to scoop up little bugs from the pond muck, they were quite successful.

Dragonflies
What a Dragonfly looks like in a younger stage of life.

We have been to Stony Brook a couple of times in the past. Once I took Andrew on his own when it was just the two of us all week long. I called them Adventure Fridays in tht happened four years ago to the day of this field trip. Another time we went as a family using our Audubon society membership.

Fortnite Battle Royale Collection Wave 2 Unboxing

Fortnite Mini Action Figures
Photo-A-Day 2.0 #00134

Moose Toys sent me a new Fortnite Loot Box full of Fortnite mini action figures for free to review and play with. Opinions are my own.

I am so lucky to be working with Moose Toys and their collection of Fortnite toys. These mini action figures are so well detailed and capture the characters, weapons and accessories that you can find in Fortnite. This year Moose Toys will be dropping 100 figures. The first wave had 16 toys and this second wave has 24 figures. so there are 40 out there now, or will be soon. Then Moose Toys will also be producing accessories for display and play. I know a Battle Bus is on the way, too. In my Loot Box I received the Port-A-Fort playset that lets you built a little fortress to use to fight against enemies and protect your allies. I received 14 of the 24 mini action figures so I have a few to go and find out there. You can see the whole list in the image after my unboxing video. Take a look.

You can find these Fortnite Toys on Amazon.com. That is our affiliat elink, it costs you nothing extra to use it but it helps out our channel and blog.
