Review: Invasion of the Cow Snatchers

Invasion of the Cow SnatchersThinkFun sent us one of their latest games, Invasion of the Cow Snatchers. Opinions of the game are our own.

Strategy games are a lot of fun for me. I love that ThinkFun makes games where you can start off very simple and move to expert level in your strategic thinking. They have done it so many times with their games and each one has a unique and fun challenge. I’ve played a ton of them with roller coasters, lasers and more. Think time around we are using magnets to have an UFO fly around and pick up cows. The kids were tickled by this game. They found it to be very funny and challenging.

This is a maze gme where you fly around with the UFO snatching up cows but avoiding obstacles like barns, crop rows, fences and hay bales. These are all different heights and it is challenging because as you pick up cows there are only certain ways that you can go to get the cows around the farm without them hitting one of these obstacles. You have to be able to think in a few dimensions at once and I love that.

Be the Bad Guy in Boss Monster

Boss Monster
Photo-A-Day 2.0 #00237

End of the Summer means clearance time at Target. I saw this game that looked like an old school Nintendo cartridge and I had to check it out. I love card strategy games and this was perfect for a old school gamer like me. The game is called Boss Monster and all the cards are 8-bit renditions of monsters spells heroes and more. Your objective is to create a dungeon to stop the heroes from getting to you. You play as the bad guy, the Boss Monster! It is pretty funny to have a game turned on it’s head like that because 99% of the time you are a hero trying to battle a monster like one of the Boss Monsters. I am looking forward to trying to play this with the family. I also got a good deal on it. It was marked from $25 to $7. A good Target Clearance find.
