Teens and Ice Cream…

Imixamerica

There is nothing that lights up the face of an all American kid than ice cream. Just the thought of having ice cream after a little league game, or on a hot sunny day makes it the only thing you can think about. Now imagine that the ice cream you are craving is Coldstone Creamery ice cream. I first discovered Coldstone a couple of years ago on the road. At the time they had not been in my neck of the woods but that error has since been corrected. At Coldstone you select your flavor(s) of ice cream as well as mix ins. The cheerful and musically inclined staff then makes your ice cream custom. They also have a ton of signature flavors if you are not in the mood to create your own. No matter what you chose it is going to be delicious.

I have always wanted to make my own signature flavor and each time I go in I try something new that I create. If I was a lot younger I would certainly enter the Awesome Coldstone Contest that is happening. I looked over the rules and everything is pretty straightforward. But there are two things you need to know. First you must be 13-19 to participate. The other thing is that the deadline for submission is midnight June 5, 2008.

Participants can win all sorts of prizes like gift certificates and other items. The grand prize winner is in for a $30,000 prize package that includes many cool things. So you need to come up with a flavor, give it a catchy name, get your friends and family to try it and the ask them to vote for your flavor. Voting takes place till December 31, 2008. So get your entry in today, or have your kids do it.

  1. Ice cream after a little league game. It was Bristol Farms in Norton and bobby Adams’s mother would always take us. the winning team would get a free cone and I would have my favorite “Pistachio”. I guess we were the all “American Kids” and we didn’t even know it.

  2. Dad,
I miss the Strawberry ice cream in a sugar cone at Bristol Farms. I also remember Dairy Queen after playing little league for Amvet.
