Sometimes even weeds have a little beauty to them.
Today was killer on me. The stuff in the front hall made it up into the dining room. And it didn’t appear but magic either. I hauled it on up. But now the front hall is all but empty. Now it is Mom and Dad’s turn.
The baby’s room is shaping up. I’m nearly finished with the second IKEA build. I’m working on a little dresser that has way more parts than the crib. Weird.
The sunflower is getting more and more in bloom.
Today also kicked off a contest through PayPerPost. It is called the Blog Battle Royale: iRobot Voting Begins. My entry is #29. You can only vote once and it is very simple, scroll down to the voting bog, click the radio button next to #29 and click vote. Two clicks and you are done. If you would be so kind as to vote for me that would be great. I’d love to have a little Roomba zipping around the house. Picking up the little kitty furballs that continue to appear.
The contest for a spot in a Super Bowl Commercial is still up for grabs and voting continues till August 23rd. You can vote every day. Please do. Just simply Fuel My Blog and you have voted for me.
Contest update: Just want to let you know that the next update (after tonights of course) will be on Monday night. Don’t forget that you can earn 5 points for comments on the Photo Hunt post as well as the Green Thumb Sunday post and 5 points for all photos associated with them as well.
Also don’t forget this message that was part of an e-mail I sent out.
I have a new way for everyone to earn 25 points. It will be a Photo Contest. I would like each of you to send me a photo at least 640 X 480 in size. I will post the photos on my blog in a post. Then I will tally up all the comments that are on that post and give the person with the most comments about their photo an additional 25 points. So just e-mail me back with a photo that I can use for this part of the contest. Photos should be sent to me by Sunday 8/19. The photo post will go up Monday August 20th. I will tally comments till the 24th at 12:00noon EST. This was a suggestion made by Lisa. She gets 10 points for that suggestion.
I’ve received 3 photos so far. Please send them in. Can’t wait to see what you guys send in. Lisa is still dominating the leader board. Followed closely by Mo and then Christine. Check the leader board and don’t forget to let me know if you have subscribed to my feed (that is 50 points). The big point makers are still out there like posts about the contest and posts about one of my photos and being a PAD host. Just let me know and I can set you up with the points.
Have a great weekend everyone. I am off to the Cape and going to work on a project with the GiSTEQ PhotoTrackr for a future contest that will be very awesome.
I learned something today. An Excel spreadsheet only goes up to column IV. That is how many columns I have filled up with all the point gathering for BenSpark’s August Add It Up Contest. And we are only 1/2 way through the month. You guys have been awesome.
I nearly Forgot, Raesmom over at Geeky Housewife from Win an XShot from BenSpark posted about the Super Bowl Contest out of the goodness of her heart. Please drop by and leave her some great comments. There’s 5 points in it for sharing the love.
I used to call those weeds “caterpillar plants”. They look a lot like the fuzzy green caterpillars that I used to see all over the place in New York when I was a kid.
The sunflower is looking beautiful!
Have a great weekend!
Caterpillar plants, that sounds like a good name for them. They certainly do look like Caterpillars. Enjoy your weekend as well.
LOL at the excel spreadsheet 🙂 Never knew that either.
Yeah that was a surprise to me too.
The purple one is my favorite. I saw one tonite in a garden in town. I thought it was purple loosestrife from far away: and that is an invasive species we are supposed to kill. But I won’t. But I didn’t think they should cultivate it; but they didn’t. It’s your plant.
I think it is some sort of weed, it will probably get pulled sometime in the coming week, although it is really huge.
