This Thanksgiving we went down to the Cape. We’ve got some family traditions that are becoming stronger each year. We arrived on Wednesday and we all went out to the Cinema Pub to see Ralph Breaks the Internet. Seeing a movie there before Thanksgiving is starting to become a little tradition. As long as there is a good family movie to see then it may continue. It is also something that we do to celebrate Andrew’s Birthday.
Andrew was born a few days before Thanksgiving and we actually brought him home from the hospital on Thanksgiving that year. This year his birthday happened to land right on Thanksgiving. That is why he has pie and cake and ice cream in his photo above.
Thanksgiving day we had a delicious meal with Mom, Dad and my grandfather, Rick. Dad went to Pie in the Sky bakery in the afternoon and picked up dinner rolls. My mom had ordered our whole meal from Windfall and apparently they forgot the rolls. I think that Eva is going to want to get those rolls every year form now on, though.
A tradition that we’ve been keeping up with for several years has been to get matching pajamas for the whole family. This year we split things up a bit. Polar bears for the boys and penguins for the girls. The pants have a plaid look to them, although the penguin pants not as much. The sets did come with matching socks this time, though. And they are very comfy with little treads on the bottoms so that you won’t slip.
A new Tradition that we started was introducing Reindeer in Here to the kids. This is a new product that I received to review. It is a little reindeer that is supposed to hang out with the kids every day leading up to Christmas. They can name the reindeer, hug it and talk to it and even sleep with it at night. The reindeer is there to help get to know the kids so they can tell Santa about all the things the kids are dreaming about for Christmas. I received two Reindeer and also the book, a coloring book and a wish jar.
The kids took to the Reindeer pretty well. Andrew originally named his Jimmy and then later Spike because of the spiky hair. Eva sent out a group message to everyone on her Facebook Kids app to crowdsource the name of her Reindeer. She has determined that it is a girl and she is going to sleep on a name for her reindeer.
