So tomorrow PayPerPost is going through a name change to IZEA. That is according to Colleen at Simple Kind of Life. I learned about this by reading a post by Robert Scoble who linked to Colleen’s post. It seems like pretty big news to not be announced to all of the bloggers who are part of the PayPerPost marketplace through an official PayPerPost channel like their blog or their newsletter The Tack. I know that a few people were asked to take a look at some behind the scenes stuff a few months ago and there was post from Ted about choosing a name. But I thought it was all going to be revealed at PostieCon. So is November 10th going to be IZEACon? There is no mention of this on the PayPerPost Blog yet either. What gives?
Later ….
I did notice that the PPP blog now says http://posties.izea.com/ instead of posties.payperpost.com. So I think that things are changing and soon. But yet no announcement to Posties, no e-mail and no blog post.
Later still….
There was a post by Ted to point to Colleen’s post. And IZEA is now something that you can go to. So what is IZEA. Is it a complete name change for PayPerPost, no. It is the all encompassing name that contains:

I’m not thrilled by the name. I think there was a better one but this is what was chosen. I am sure it was chosen before the Posties were asked to write up posts about it. But Ted is amazing at getting people to get the word out there. It was a stroke of genius to get a Postie to break the news and get the link bait machine going. And I do like that there will be one name that will encompass each and every new endeavor for PayPerPost, er, IZEA in the future.
I got shut out of the Blog Battle Royale again. Two out of the four finalists did some good posts in my opinion, one was rather unreadable, one ind of boring and one was okay. But one did what I should have done.
Oh well, I thought I did an excellent post for Subway that should have won. I have no IZEA why I didn’t get selected. Heck I didn’t even win by eating the dang sandwich. I tested my blood sugar prior to the meal and then two hours after. 88 before 192 after, it was the bread, my blood sugar and bread don’t mix. So I guess a $50 gift card to subway wouldn’t have been to good for me but I would have loved to have watched myself on that iPod Touch in the Rockstartup Episode #38.
There will be voting for an ultimate winner. Vote for Markus Langenfeld, his post took time and preparation and it deserves to win hands down.
