Eva’s Feehan Junior Year Father Daughter Dance …

Tonight was the Father Daughter Dance for Feehan and Eva and I went decked out in matching ties and vests. I even had a pocket square that complimented the set. We found a set with matching Vest, Tie, Pocket Square, Tie clips and cufflinks on Amazon and decided that this was the way we were going this year. Even though we got Eva the smallest size it needed some alteration. Eva worked on it herself along with her Sewing club this past week. They did a nice job getting the fit right.

The dance was at the Venus de Milo in Swansea and it was the first time that I’d been there for this event. the past years have been at Patriot Place Gillette Stadium. While I liked that venue this was a nice one too.

We sat with several of Eva’s friends and their dads. I even met one dad who was two years behind me at Feehan when I went there. He was attending his 8th one in a row since he has two daughters four years apart. The talk amongst the dads was better than past years for me. I enjoyed that. We also has Andy’s teacher from last year and we had a nice conversation.

Allison took our photos before we headed off to the dance. It was a very nice night.

I Did A Thing Today …

Andy has been going to Rock Spot and rock climbing for about 2 years now. I’ve gone with them almost every time to drop them off and pick them up. Well, there was a deal for 10 sessions this Summer and id decided to buy it so that I was forced to try climbing. The weird thing is that I never used to be afraid of heights as a kid but as I got older it creeped into my mind. I mean, I used to run around on roofs helping my dad with shingling the roofs and stuff. So there was a time when I was not scared.

So, I faced my fears and gave climbing a go. I found that it was a lot harder than I had expected. Not so much the heights but the actual climbing. I am going to have to build up my strength to do this. I didn’t even get all the way to the top of any of the climbs today. But I have several more trips to make and continue to try to get to the top.

Apparently my two days of walking was too much for my feet because I got a huge blister on my left foot. It probably popped while I was climbing. So, a few days of taking it easy before I get back out on the road again.
