Opening Day at Snappy Dogs 2017

I took my dad and Andrew up to Hopkinton to have lunch at Snappy Dogs. I love this place. I learned about it years ago from my friend, The Hot Dog Man, who was touring the different hot dog joints of New England. He introduced me to Lisa and Teresa, two wonderful women who run Snappy Dogs. This place is great, they serve Pearl Hot Dogs in a variety of sizes from the Little Dog to the Great Dane (1/2lb dog). On Friday they even have a special gourmet dog and that changes each week. I once had a steak and cheese dog and it was incredible! Last year we went up for Opening Day and met up with my sister and her kids. It is close to where they live but we didn’t catch up with them today. Today was the guys. Three Andrew’s enjoying dogs. Andrew got a little dog, Dad a Big Dog and I had to go with the Great Dane! All the condiments are homemade and delicious. Then there are the desserts. I grabbed a few and took them home to Allison and Eva to enjoy. Some cookies and a couple of Whoopie Dogs. Caramel Whoopie Dogs. It was a well worth the trip.

When I got home there was a package for me from Amazon.com. I had ordered a microphone so that I could capture better sound for Built from Bricks and especially for when we head to Philly Brickfest LIVE. We’ll be interviewing people and good sound is important. I am also on a budget so I got a fairly inexpensive one. I got the Movo VXR300 HD Professional Condenser X/Y Stereo Video Microphone for DSLR Video Cameras to my arsenal of gadgets. You can pick up the mic through my amazon affiliate link – http://amzn.to/2oDmzQ2 This can only work on my NX1 camera because that is the only one with an input jack.

I also got this one because I have an order in for a MicRig that I got through Kickstarter. I actually snagged it at the $25 price so I’m really excited about that.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day 2017

Our Little Leprechaun

Today was a really enjoyable Saint Patrick’s Day. It started with the kids getting up to find the Leprechaun came to the house and left a few things in disarray. They were delighted to see the shenanigans that the little imp got up to.

The delight continued when I dropped Andrew off at school. Apparently, the leprechaun messed up a bunch of things in his classroom. The kids were all excited when they went into the room going from place to place looking at the chaos.

When I picked up Andrew he had on a Leprechaun hat and beard. He was all excited and had to show me what he did during class. He was asked what he would do with a pot of gold. Andrew would buy a barn full of animals. He did a really nice job drawing a cow, a pot of gold, a pig and some chickens.

We came home and had lunch. The kids went off to their physicals and I rested.

Well, I didn’t exactly rest. I played some Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild. This is a great game and I finally solved a difficult puzzle. I’d been working on it for a couple of days and finally got it done. Finding solutions to these puzzles is really fun. I love puzzles and figuring things out. This is a big challenge to play through this game and complete it. I love figuring it out and finding new places.

We had traditional boiled dinner and Irish soda bread for dinner. I enjoy this meal so much but only have it once every year. We have plenty left over for corned beef hash, which is another favorite of mine.
