Plan a trip, win an iPod Nano

In February Allison and I are headed down to Florida for a couple of weeks. We hope to meet up with some people that we know while we are there. Ashley and Mr. Fab and Mrs. Fab we are hoping that you guys will be on that list. Since our vacation is a little ways away I can begin to start looking for great things for us to do. I signed up for the Trusted Travel eNewsletter and not only will I get the latest information on awesome tours I will also get the chance to win an iPod Nano or tour tickets. The choice is yours but hurry and act fast as this promotion ends on December 31st.

Part of our time in Florida will be around Orlando and part of our time in Miami. So I am going to look into tours that I’d like to go on in both places. I have been to Orlando many times and I remember one trip where my friend James and I rode down to Florida with his parents in one car and his cousins in the other. While we were there we also toured the college that he was going to attend. Embry-Riddle. I wasn’t that into planes at that time but I always did want to get down and see the Kennedy Space Center when I was on a trip to Orlando.

I still haven’t been on that tour but Trusted Tours does offer discounted tickets to the Kennedy Space Center. I think it would be amazing to see and photograph the ships that have traveled beyond our atmosphere and into outer space.

In Miami I think I’d like to take the Miami to Key West Ferry on the overnight trip. I’ve never been to Key West and I’ve always wanted to go there. The land where Jimmy is King. How much fun would it be to get there by boat. I love the ocean and I think there would be plenty of photo opps while on board, not to mention when we arrive in Key West.

There is so much to plan, glad I have some time to do so.

Traveling now that Eva's here…

This past weekend I was in Las Vegas. I was actually in Vegas from Wednesday the 7th to Monday the 12th. With a baby one month old it was tough for this new Dad to be away. I even missed changing diapers. I really don’t want to miss a minute of Eva’s life. Going to work is tough and what is even tougher is that I travel as part of my job.

So what to do now that I’m going to be away from home for days at a stretch. I can only say that I am so glad that we live in the times that we do. Being able to communicate with my wife through a web cam or with a cell phone makes things much easier. And they can keep track of my comings and goings when I post to my blog as well as when I use services like Utterz. And Utterz is great for mobile blogging, which came in handy this week because I had no Internet in the hotel room.

I was able to spend some time talking with A & E over the webcam on Sunday. By Sunday I was dying to get home and still had to wait till my flight took off at 11:15pm. But again, lucky to live in the times that we do I was able to use my iPod and my Zune to keep all of my pictures of Eva so that I could look at them as a slide show. Yeah, I love being a technogeek father.
