I titled this post Randomness on Cape Cod because I had some big plans for doing some vlogs while at the Cape. Then we had two days tht were so cold and dreary my energy was sapped and I already had a bunch of videos in the can so I was sloppy and lazy about taking any video. So this is actually a compilation of things that we did while on the Cape throughout the week. Did I get any footage of The Beach? Nope. National Sundae Day? Nope. I am slipping. Paul’s Pizza? Nope. Next week on the Cape I will be better.
Today was the opening picnic for families of the kids in the Children’s School of Science. this was the first one that I have been able to attend. It was nice. We took the rest of our Paul’s Pizza to eat cold at the picnic.
We learned that Andrew is not a fan of this way of eating pizza. He did, however, find plenty of brownies and watermelon to enjoy as his meal. The kids took turns on the zipline as I took slow motion video of them, that is pretty much all the video that was specifically from today. We are having fun but heading home tomorrow.
I took Andrew over to the beach today to fly a kite. I am pretty sure that I bought the kite around 2007 because that is when I think I was in Kalamazoo, MI. I got it from the airplane museum there and remember bringing it back on the plane and trying to get it into the overhead. The package for it was huge. It was overcast and cold and wet here today so it was a good day to finally take it out of the package and fly it.
We walked down the beach and were going to fly it there because we figured that there wouldn’t really be anyone on the beach and we wouldn’t disturb anyone. But there ere people there on the beach soaking up the haze. Also, as we walked along we saw some people flying kits on the beach and then they were told to take the kites off the beach. We continued on up the hill b the Casino and then went to the beach past the Casino that is not manned by lifeguards and where no one was using the beach.
At first I did all the flying. I was nervous of the kite hitting the water or going up into the hill, so I didn’t have Andrew flying it. He really wanted to fly it. I let him try a little while later and he did pretty good. The kite crashed a few times but overall it stayed up and flying. Then he got cold so we headed home. On the way there we went to the large ball field. It was empty so we flew the kite there for a while, as well. Andrew even flew the kite through a couple of loop the loops.
