Photo-A-Day #4058
Today was Eva’s First Communion. The day turned out perfect. The rain held off and we had beautiful weather. Luckily, also, the loud neighbors were also quiet for the day. The ceremony was excellent. Fr. Dave always does a wonderful job with the kids. Eva had been nervous about the ceremony but she did an amazing job. She did part of the Prayer of the Faithful. Eva is so poised and well spoken. I am so proud of her.
After the ceremony Dan took me to Willow Tree to pick up the sandwich platters. I had ordered 2 sandwich platters and a cold cut platter a week ago. When I came in there was no slip for my order and it wasn’t ready. We ended up waiting there about 45 minutes while the platters were made up. It was a mess up and eventually they found my slip and everything was fixed. Luckily Dan and Marcia had made up a ton of food for the party and non one went hungry while waiting for the sandwiches.
The party went very well. We had many family members there and had a lot of fun. The kids played well together and the play time even included one of our neighbor’s great-granddaughter. Andrew had a wonderful time with her and she is now his BFF. She’s invited him to her house and it was so cute seeing them play together. I love how easygoing and how easily he gives his heart to people and makes friends. At the same time I worry about the day when that quality causes him pain. But for now, it is something to embrace and encourage.
We are very fortunate to have such wonderful friends and family around to celebrate with us.
